The "figure head" is chosen ahead of time - years in advance. As is the "opposing" candidate. Then the media convinces folks they are given a choice. Then the media subtlety steers folks into a favorable choice based on what is determined to be the most effective visual for control.

One silver lining to Trump losing is that he would truly become unleashed then. Truly unburdened by the expectations and limitations of his position. Things could get very interesting then. We all know Trump is not going to keep his month shut and just fade off into the sunset if he loses in November.

Care, you're correct. I often forget there is that other worldview on events.

I just get confused easily. I recall, when I was a boy, my father's colleagues mentioning having taken part in the seizure of the Remagen Bridge.

Heroism wasn't hard to recognize in those accounts.

I suppose because my mind has aged, I can't relate those ideals of heroism with what I read about Vindman.

Mark these words: If Biden "wins", for the first time in history expect there to be calls for Trump to step aside early "so Biden - the new President - can implement his own policies and set us on the path to healing." You know, in fairness.

They will absolutely let him finish out his term like every other president in the history of our country. They have to. There is a transition period. Biden would not be prepared to take over right away. There is tons of work to do. Now, would Congress attempt to neuter any remaining power that a lame-duck Trump has? Absolutely....but I highly doubt they would physically remove him from office before January 20th, 2021.
