A New Beginning CT2020

The campfire was mere embers now.

I was 14 miles from a road, camping beside a lake that had no name.

I had mourned... I had screamed at the skies for so long that I no longer had a voice... just blood and whispers.

I sat in the dark talking to the Grandmother.

"She is dying and does not understand you. How can she be healed with her God?"

"Child, there are no Gods. There are only things that you think are Gods inside of your head."

"You make your own Gods. Let her know hers and heal herself."

The End.

I never do well in writing contests when I write about something that actually happened to me.

But they tell me "write what you know."

Doesn't matter in this case... I was getting it off my chest.
