There is no logic in killing the slaves. They don't want this planet for anything more than the quick tithe of most of the planets mined gold, plainum group metals, and easy hydrogen as Sol passes through their chunk of space.

What happens after is usually our human lords destroying each other and most of us in the process desperately seeking real wealth to maintain their power. They usually die pretty quick actually since their power is taken along with the real wealth.

The ones in the sky just go back to their different stars until the return of Sol, and possibly a handful of other systems passes through their space again. Basically we pass through an iinterstellar roadblock every so often and it costs the pla at all its wealth to pass unharmed by them. Its a deal some may know as the covenant. Other cultures refer it differently. But the descriptions are usually the same, battles in the sky between gods. Of course they are physicially just as mortal as us.

Hey who knows, maybe this time we got a chance! I still believe we need to focus on fast acting caustic weapons to eat away at their metals and possibly even overload the shields.

This plan started since before Roswell, reverse engineering technology has built up quite an effective control grid these days. Undertaking satanic rituals has disconnect many leaders for the aims of humanity to that of power.

It has not been too hard for the alien invaders, drop of some trogen horses, and just sit back and watch as the humans destroy themselves.

All of the mined gold in the world only fills up a football field so high. Thats enough to develop some serious space tech though, or grant every human on earth multiple tracking devices and wireless gadgets.

However, there have been other theories in history thay believe that gold flowing in the veins can grant near immortality. Unfortunatly what is more likely is some machine entity that utilizes liquid gold or gold colored metal in ita physical composition was diefied ages ago by primitive ignorant villagers.

In any case, the powers convinced humans around the world to forego ownership of gold as some stale investment or antiquated relic and instead switch to the conviniencence of non existant wealth in the form of electrons photons and binary code.

There is probably enough gold to save the plant from them. Its just a problem after because who then saves us from ourselves?? Once all that real wealth is gone, there is nothing to support the institutions of the civililised world. Our room has always been our own making for some time. We habe got to be at least on the tenth iteration of humanity by now. Yet we keep #ing it up.

Strategy ain't going to stop what's coming my friend, the splitting up everyone into groups has been complete, that stops the ability to organize, and keeps people busy fighting each other instead. Game over.
