thanks for the correction my 4 hours is up for that post...always good to double check when typing names ...this set of books is really interesting...they look at the land the geological makeup ....the history of the area....excerpts from the original writings.....right now I can only find 2 ...they made many charts lists all the physical phenomena...buzzing like bees, angel hair

It has been a while since I read these books..it is a fascinating subject

found another book from the set...they described the lady as a little over 1 meter tall (3 feet) as also recorded in the Parish ministry 1.10 meters in height. very short

It was a genuine miracle, no Alien ship's or flying saucers just a Miracle that can not be explained by science though some will try and fail to do so.

There were NO cars exploding this was 1917 a very poor village in Portugal, who had cars, who parked them by the side of what road's.

This village was served by crude roads or just dirt tracks at best, these children were shepherds and the vision was most certainly genuine.

The Apparition, vision's and prophecy of Fatima were a direct continuation of the earlier La Salette Apparition, vision and prophecy's - also to Shepherd children.

feminine and very beautiful
wrapped in a light that blinked
she was 1.10 meters tall (a little over 3 feet)
she appearted to be between 12 and 15 years old
she wore a skirt a robe and a coat and maybe a cape that were white
her skirt and robe had checkered strands of gold
her coat had 2 or 3 cords at the wrists
she wore something on her head that covered her ears and hair
she had black eyes
she had a small strand of beads resembling a rosary
some type of hoop earrings at her neck and a luminous ball at her waist
she came from above and disappeared little by little in the inverse direction first her head then her body then her feet
she made no facial movements ,nor articulated her inferior limbs when moving
she spoke without moving her lips
she moved only her hands once in a while
she turned her back to the seers when leaving
there was always a flash of lighting before the lady appeared..later lucia clarified not really lightening it was the reflection of the light as it approached
thunder when the lady appeared and thunder when the lady disappeared
people heard what sounded like bees buzzing when the lady spoke to the children.
the sheep would go down to the lowest pasture the lady told them the sheep would not eat the wheat and the they did not until the lady left

another interesting effect at the time ..each month on the day the lady would appear noticable diminising of sunlight and drop in temp and prism effects from the sun...even nonbelievers wee afraid to be there ..Ignacio antonio Marques said " I as a non believer would like to deny everything I am seeing ,but contemplating the atmosphere I see that everything is overcast ..the day darkens..I feel that the temp is almost supernatural and I am afraid to be there"

actually there WERE some effects on automobiles..2 friends traveling to fatima 1 was well know in banking matters and very serious not accustomed to believing in miracles. they were laughing about the miracle...

the gas they were carrying suddenly caught fire..it was that day pouring rain no crash no spark...several milometers later without any impact the windshield broke into a thousand shards and the hood of the car ripped off.

they stopped the car got out looked for tree branches wires nothing found.......today mr s. declares that he doesn't allow anyone to talk about the apparition at fatima in his presence,because he considers what happened to him HER punishment for having laughed at the "miracle" these 2 men are of high social standing and quite well known in lisbon.

like some kind of suction happened

there was another man nearby changing a flat tire when the "miracle happened he was soaking wet and suddenly he was dry..

Doesn't sound much like the usual description of the Virgin Mary. Particularly the 3-foot tall part. I wonder if an artist has created a version where they're not purposely trying to incorporate standard Marian imagery. Could be freaky. At least Our Lady of Guadalupe was apparently normal sized.

The various visions reported at Fatima do not resemble a UFO incident. The photo in the OP is not a genuine picture of the event, but a sunset photo from decades later. See this article for its origin.

The only way of eliminating compression artefacts is to try to guess how things looked before. Knowing the algorithm used could help reverse the effect, but lost information cannot really be retrieved.

I saw a few weeks ago that there's a new, AI based method of recreating high resolution images from low resolution versions, maybe that works also for noise and compression artefacts removal. The method tries to create an image that looks similar to the low resolution version when resized to that small size and goes back and forth until it finds a good match, but there's no way of knowing if the original was like the final result or not.

In this case, I think we are seeing the result of at least two compression algorithms, as the image was most likely a JPEG with too much compression that was too compressed by the video compression algorithm, resulting in artefacts made from artefacts.

PS: if we see what looks like a 8 x 8 or 16 x 16 grid then it's most likely the result of JPEG compression.

oh I am sorry but you are mistaken...it wasn't just the people of the little town many people came from different areas there were men women and children rich and poor believers and total skeptics....it included journalists and university professors,farmers, housewives,city folk and country folk....close by one could find all manner of vehicles from donkey drawn carts to the best automobiles of the age in an area that extended to almost 1 kilometer......reporter reported someone counted over 100 cars and more than 100 bicycles and it was impossible to count the diverse cars that blocked the road

you should read Heavenly lights" it shows the MANY Many similarities between fatima and ufo experiences

4 different towns witnessed this 'event" people working in the fields, a guy changing a flat tire totally soaked from the rain was suddenly dry

That's another thing many people do not know, there were several (eight, if I'm not mistaken) apparitions, the first three from an angel and the last five from the lady.

Yes, at the time of the last apparition the case was already widely known. By some accounts there were more than 70,000 people there (Fátima had some 2,000 people at the time).

Some aspects are relatively similar to some aspects of some UFO cases, but most are not, specially the 7 apparitions before the last one.

There is mention that twelve pictures were taken of the event in the form of glass plates. As a result it led me to this video on YouTube.

During the video it does present some of the pictures. I took two as I paused the video, took a screenshot and then enhanced the screen shot with the FastStone Image Viewer.

Here's two scenes from the video and my enhancement of them

Symmetrical and Geometric shapes. This is the first I have ever seen this type of pattern and I have probably done 400+ enhancements.

I have been using this same software looking at 100's of pictures of objects from all over the world along with many that I have personally witnessed along with family. We have seen things zig zag and perform right angle turns on a dime. The object also seem to have there own atmosphere. I cant explain what they are but they seem to have originated from Area 51. So where did they get that technology?

While the picture may not be from fatima the enhancement shows we are living in a simulation as you can see all the circuitry running through the sky!

An interesting story, however there are many things to consider.

Firstly none of us were never alive when this event occurred so all that was written is anecdotal. Secondly photography was in it's infancy, so trying to remaster the original photos would take an mighty effort and finally as I have to remind everyone all the time that the U in UFO stands for unidentified, you can't just see a light in the sky you can't explain and automatically assume that it's extraterrestrial in nature.

interesting info on how many people were there for the miracle ( remember the woman appeared to the children once a month for 6 months between may and oct 1917...more people came each time, the last visit when when the miracle (or whatever IT was) happened)

Not quite what I meant. During the famous sighting, some people reported seeing something different in the sky than a dancing sun. Some people saw faces or heavenly figures, while others saw nothing at all. There’s nothing to show that Fatima involved something physical in the sky. That leaves us mostly with a psychological or spiritual explanation for what was reported.

in heavenly lights they plotted where people were standing noting the ones who saw the sun dance or saw figures...when they were done all the people who saw something were in the oblong patch that slowly curved......think about this this "lady came each month on a cloud most thought it was the virgin mary most people were very religious...so since they thought the lady was the virgin mary, it is not much of a stretch that when they saw faces, people they would think they were jesus or saints????

I second that JPG was used somewhere along the way. (I teach Linear Algebra, and one of the neater applications is image compression via low-rank approximation of matrices. Grid-like structures are a very natural consequence.)

Which begs the question: Has anyone dug out the original photo (or as close to the original as can be found) and scanned it in higher resolution?
