For me, I have found a parallel in farming... sometimes an animal is born suffering and in taking it's life as humanely as possible we are just passing that potential on.

There was a wren couple nesting in a safe place above the garage. The food gathering area was not safe. Cats!

After I didn't see the wrens for two whole days, I had my son in law take the nest down. There was one egg in the bottom, partly covered.

I put that nest in a tree with the egg still in it.
A bigger bird found the nest, ate, then flew away.

That's life.

=============
I forgot the good part.

My son in law says that we can put bird feeders up. Out of the reach of cats.
And any birds who want to can build above the garage.

You haven't a clue.

It's extremely complicated, and the nuances escape most guys.

I honestly don't care what you do with your body.
I do care how men are held financially responsible because of a woman's choice.

Yeah I just hate that when women choose to rape men!

There aught to be a law against that.

"Women and accountability rarely go hand in hand, and how do you think men feel when someone else decides to "kill" their child and they have little or no say in the matter?"

That's a two way street dude. After two abortions in my youth that I was solely responsible for, I had two children with my husband who then disappeared when both were babies. We had planned these kids and yet, that manchild couldn't cope and went to live on the streets and do drugs... so I had to raise them alone, no physical help, no financial help, not even a second parent to take them to give me a break. And that is really common, yet I am not blaming all men. One man did that damage.

I don't know who poisoned your mind but please think before you apply all that poison to the half the human race! No man or woman is bettered by the opposite sex slagging them off.

Really sad that a well thought out post got taken over by tired old guy cliches.

Theologians discovered that the most effective way to increase the numbers of their particular faith was for them to be born into that faith.

The same goes for producing future soldiers to be fodder for slaughter.

Yeah Abortion is abhorrent and makes Me cry! Seriously!

Then do something about it!

Push for easy access to birth control. I'm sure the Papacy will come around if mass threat of boycott is used.

I'm all for subsidies for birth control.
Easing restrictions on adoption too.
Banning sales tax on female hygiene products.

But I doubt women would be willing to compromise

Ahhh, I see! Well spoken Sir. That also negates fodder for the slaughter if they haven't had a chance to live.

The first funeral I ever went to had a story just like this.
The fiancé was only 16.
So of course they had to wait for his tour to be over.

Every time I search for this song,
I type in "Jonny Don't be a Hero" instead of "Billy".

Ah!
Education
Propaganda ( factual type )
Social persuasion
Social movement
Social expectation.

Could work.

Compromise!
Compromise!

There's fore play
and then there's the real play
and the after play.

========
When it comes to playing
why compromise?

There's a pill that can fix that compromise problem.

What would abortion be if we lived like a community, if we all got along? That's why we need abortion.

I'll have to acknowledge the words of Beloved Padre Pio, as I couldn't have said it better Myself:

In a now famous story, Father Pellegrino Funicelli, who assisted Padre Pio for many years, once confronted the saint on the sin, asking him:

“Today you denied absolution to a woman because she had voluntarily undergone an abortion. Why have you been so rigorous with this poor unfortunate?” (Padre Pio would sometimes refuse to give absolution to a penitent if they showed insufficient contrition; often they would return and he’d give absolution if they were sincere).

Padre Pio responded: “The day that people lose their horror for abortion will be the most terrible day for humanity. Abortion is not only a homicide but also a suicide. Shouldn’t we have the courage to manifest our faith before those who commit two crimes within one act?

“Suicide?,” asked Father Pellegrino.

“The suicide of the human race will be understood by those who will see the earth populated by the elderly and depopulated of children: burnt as a desert,” Padre Pio replied.

While your opinion is noted the reasoning comes from a religious point of view and includes a Father (clergy) that has no clue what being pregnant is all about (man) and supposedly celibate (pedophiles) so, whatever you want to tell yourself, I stand my opinion about the soul and the woman's right. The church, nun or priest, even the pope, has no business in this decision process period and their opinions really are seriously clouded and therefore dismissed by me out of hand.
