Hehe i remember seeing a video on something similar to this once, the thing shook around like a weeble. Ah well those crazy scientists and their flying machines eh.

The AVRO car was never designed or intended to actually fly or be any form of effective aircraft. Rather it was designed as a diversion and camoflage for early production craft, powered by EMD drives, for Project Winterhaven.

There was something like this on Popular Mechanics. There was a project the military was working on that resembles this. But it was a hover craft that could reach a 6 ft. vertical instead of hugging the ground.
