CPD Denies President Trumps Request for an Earlier Debate with Joe Biden.

The first of 3 Presidential debates between Donald Trump and Joe Biden is scheduled for Tuesday, September 29th.

Due to the ongoing CoronaVirus-19 epidemic, several states are setting up to have their Presidential, and down-ballot elections, as ALL or MOSTLY Vote-by-mail, instead of the traditional vote-in-person.

Many states will be mailing out ballots to residents right after Labor Day, and encouraging voters to return them ASAP.

Given this unusually early start to voting, President Trump asked the "Commission on Presidential Debates" to either add a 4th debate for early September, or, to move the 3rd debate (set for October 22nd) to the front of the pack...making it happen in early September.

Within 24 hours, the Commission on Presidential Debates ruled that the debate schedule stays the way it is. Here is their rationale for turning down the Trump Administration request:

In the letter, the three co-chairs wrote, “There is a difference between ballots having been issued by a state and those ballots having been cast by voters, who are under no compulsion to return their ballots before the debates.”

“While more people will likely vote by mail in 2020, the debate schedule has been and will be highly publicized,” they added.

“Any voter who wishes to watch one or more debates before voting, will be well aware of that opportunity.”

The three co-chairs who issued this quick decision also denied a request to let the Trump and Biden camps select the debate moderators. They seem to be out-of-touch with how unusual the 2020 voting process will be this year.

Not only will tens of millions of additional ballots be mailed out extra-early, Democratic political organizations, and Democrat-controlled media will be urging Democrat voters to return those ballots quickly, giving all kinds of reasons for doing so. (Examples: Avoid the USPS crunch..mail early!; Mail it today and get this task behind you.; The ballot might get misplaced, if you wait.; ..etc.)

Does anyone know more about the 3 Co-Chairs who make up the Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD).

1.) Frank J. Fahrenkopf, Jr.
2.) Dorothy S. Ridings
3.) Kenneth Wollack

The CPD overview implies that the Co-chairs are Democrats: www.debates.org...

I remember when CNN Moderator DONNA BRAZILE admitted to leaking questions to Hillary Clinton in advance, back in 2016. Did the CPD punish Brazile, in any way?

I think States are offering multiple options and not just saying, Mail in only, at least I don't think.

People tend to naturally react negatively when something as important as a vote can be disregarded, so stories of mail in voting have plague the States abilities to actually pull this off.

Here in TX, all options are available, from Absentee, to machine, to a single hand mark paper ballots handled by a single poll worker.

Strictly mail in is subject to errors and in some cases, fraud, depending on the importance of the vote.

This is a rock and a hard place for Biden. His biggest hope other than election fraud are these first mail in ballots before the debates.

After the first scheduled debate he'll either lose tons of votes because of his performance, or he'll lose them because of his absence.

Debating Trump is such a horrendous prospect for a Biden. He'll get eaten alive; torn to shreds. However, imagine being the first presidential candidate since 1976 to decline the debates.

It's a lose, lose for Biden.

Never say never, Sarah was 90 when Isaac was born. Abraham was 100. Joe is more of a water on the brain than walking of water type, but who knows?

Although all reality states that there will be stories/rumors of mail-in being stolen from mailboxes (especially rural areas due to likelihood of voting Republican) when they do go out. But of course those will be “made up stories” because of all the voting that will occur this year. Now that entire precincts that never vote Democrat will be solid blue this year is nothing suspicious. It just means that people “woke up to the dangers of Trump.”
