What I don't get is, I have very good friends from my teen years who are well above average intelligence and have all fallen for this. I used to think skepticism was just something that came with intelligence but I'm starting to wondering if being skeptical is genetic or something like that because these folk should be having the discussions we are having here yet are hunkered down at home, worried, and playing the good domestic with all their extra spare time. I want to speak to them about this but don't know where to start. They have an almost crush like attachment to the head doctor of british columbia and listen to her boring, repetitive covid updates daily. Sickening really.

How do we speak to people about how this is playing out?

I think of ebola and think of how radically different things would have been done... yes the government would have paid people to stay home, but amazon's profits wouldn't have skyrocketed because with ebola the government likely would have shut down all imports. I ordered stuff from china before this happened and some of it is still coming due to delays.. a serious disease and likely governments would have blocked anything coming. Why is it just my mind that comes up with these ideas? It seems so obvious, like packed grocery stores wouldn't be allowed if it were ebola.

Oh yeah that episode was a gem! I do remember them using those propaganda screens in a handful of episodes though, maybe the finale and one or two others? It's been years since I've watched.

I just remember the way they'd broadcast the whole, "Do your part, save our planet," act and the population just stopped in their tracks to look up and watch the heads of state give pep talks in the same manner as if talking down to children.

Then the World Bank issued $105 million derivative that works in a similar way.Obviously, we have cyclical models that also cover disease. It does not take much to figure out that we would be called in to project the risk. It would be in the interest of the World Health Organisation to declare this coronavirus a pandemic. They would benefit from the cash. The bondholders will lose. We have NOT been called in by the World Bank. That much I can say.

Alone together is another one tou see on TV alot, usually after some random drug commercial for pill that treats a crooked pecker.

Oh it most certainly is. Folks can remain in denial all they want. The rest of us see right through it.

The world some are awaiting may seem to be just around the corner. But in the end, I believe that those of us who understand this farce of a response will eventually help bring it to it's end.

Refer to my question from OP. Why is Harley Davidson shop (et al) telling me to wash my hands and wear my mask to save lives from their digital billboard?

What is that if not sponsored propaganda?

I am really willing to hear an answer that makes sense.

Had the Covid. Probably at least 100,000 people in my county had it. That's out of 400,000 people assuming 20 times the count of 5,000 that had tested positive for it. Many never got tested but had it. Many had it but the symptoms were so mild they were left wondering. 350 deaths. Mostly the elderly or those with other medical conditions. A few teenagers, nobody under the age of 16. About 20 to 30 people in the local hospitals for it on any given day. Its still lethal to a few each month. But 5 deaths a month is down from 150 that died in May. The hand washing( which does make sense and I've always done that) the masks, the social distancing is all to make us FEEL safe, not to actually make us safe. Scare us needlessly and then make us do some mostly pointless things and tell us that will save us. Its all a crock of #. Now the death rate has fallen off the charts and we're tol d we still have to keep things locked down. High profile figures are told they test positive for it and its big news. Are they actually sick and do they have symptoms? Nope.

Yeah the ability of anyone to say a peep about this went out the window with the protests AND riots.

I ran the numbers the other day for the ten main counties (including mine) in the San Francisco bay area. The numbers are essentially the same: about 0.7% of the people in those counties have contracted COVID-19, and about 0.01% have died from it. Do the math.

Andy, the entire state, based on Emperor Newsom's decrees, is shut down. There's more to this that "protecting" the populace...

Younger generations are plugged into the net 24/7 now. And unlike us older people, they've grown up with this 'new world' and it has become 'the new normal' for them.

Gotta listen to each other and work together. Put the politics aside and come together as a species.

The real challenge in this situation though is how do you bring down the 'net' (appropriate name hey, cos nets trap things.) Smart devices, the internet, it has to go for the changes we need to be made.
Another challenge is we need a comeback regarding common sense and personal responsibility. Gotta lose all these labels we keep coming up with. These cards we allow people to play.

Find myself praying to Sol to give us a big ol' solar flare or something lol.

But yes, regardless, it is long past time we get off our collective arses and become our own Superman. Because only we can save ourselves.

Sorry, rambling here, need more sleep. Been trying to write a super post for about 2 years now on this subject, just ends up a word storm every time. But I am tired of playing this game.

Time for a reset, one is coming regardless, let's try and reset it in the favor of all, not a few.

When I wake up properly I might try and make another post that's a bit more coherent, list of the problems we face and a list of the solutions.
We need a plan so we can proceed. But yeah it won't work while we're all on different sides of the fence and just bitching online and nothing else.
