It's been a while since I had to read this. Your faith is nothing, it's blind belief.

I figure some say so because they say they lack repeatable scientific evidence like creation.

Faith doesn't create God but don't be faithless either.

One day the world will have spoken its last word.

The essence of New Testament faith is Trust.

The primary issue is believing in [someone].
Believing that [something is true] is only a secondary issue.

It is said faith in God comes from reading the bible.

Faith is a supernatural gift from God to those who seek him.

Faith is by definition a conclusion that is formed without the research required to gather facts which support that conclusion. This isn't "nothing" it's a hypothesis employed for philosophical reasons instead of clinical reasons. The difference between prescribing sugar pills and genuine antibiotics.

I trust reality, if I stack my bike it can hurt, rolling with it helps.

I put my faith in science. The work that has gone into the periodic table over hundred of years by thousands of scientist is an amazing achievement in understanding the building blocks of reality and how they relate. Still a lot of work to go as we continue to look for more answers to the relationships of this world.

I agree there is blind faith in "Jesus died for our sins". He lived for our salvation.

Many a person will be convinced via placebo effect that a sugar pill is helping whatever problem that they are taking it for. Is this because they believed it was something that it wasn't? Had faith in it?

Ignorance is a lack of knowledge or information. It's used in a negative and derogatory way in our society but the word itself is innocent. Being ignorant to the knowledge that the pill is made of sugar, their faith is able to exist.

Wherever there is ignorance, faith is required to believe with confidence. Faith to me was always something along the lines of..

"This seems kinda far fetched and over the top. None of the miracles and events in these stories are happening on Earth, nor have they in modern history. Nevertheless, I must believe that it's true and strengthen my faith. I have no way of knowing if God exists, I need to convince myself without a shadow of a doubt in my mind that he does by strengthening my faith."

Jesus existing as a man is one level of faith. Him performing miracles is another level of faith. Him being God incarnate is yet another level, and him resurrecting from the dead is the highest level. As it gets more and more unbelievable or hard to believe, greater faith is required to convince oneself that it's true with no knowledge or information that it is, a state of ignorance.

Then we have the saying that ignorance is bliss. If it's impossible to know if you're right or especially if you're wrong about God, I'd say that qualifies as bliss.

I totally agree with everything in your post, which leads me to the question;

What is the benefit of "faith"? Why believe anything without having any real evidence? In my experience, that is downright foolish. I refuse to waver from living a 100% reality based life. Period. So, if refusing to put blind faith into the existence of a "God" means not going to a so-called "Heaven" when I die; then so be it.

I have heard from many that reading the bible was the catalyst that made them lose faith.

Why would anybody trust to read the bible? It's hard to read and unsuitable for the times. If god was real he would have created a book for each generation.

Especially if you know history. Socrates was 300-400 years before christ i think. Socrates was a much easier and understandable person compared to the people who wrote the bible.

If only it were simply said, to have faith in oneself is to have the kingdom heaven above you, for it would summon the Lords jealous gaze, only he should defeat you.

To have faith in lottery tickets an genies, is like asking Satan for onest constructive criticism which ain't cheap.

You say there are no modern miracles, have you ever read about the life of Smith Wigglesworth? He had several verifiable instances of raising people from the dead. Look into the deliverance ministry of people being delivered from demons especial in Africa. My personal experience of deliverance occurred in 1986 I was doing and selling 90 proof coc aine. It was so pure I foolishly shot a dimes worth and had a seizure, long story short I had been doing hard drugs for about 5 years of my 15 year history. When I turned my life over and made Jesus my Lord I got up off my knees and had no withdraws no desires to drink or do drugs. Customers of mine who came off the coke had to go through treatment with drugs so they could survive the withdraws, if the was and is not a miracle I don;t what is.

Professing to be wise they became fools. Man this verse is the single greatest truth about this fallen world.

Only the fool says in his heart there is no God.

Keep digging, God isn't going to drag you into heaven or the new Earth. You'll expel yourself through arrogance.

You'll miss out on a perfect world with endless things to do, projects with holy ramifications and meaningful relationships. You'll miss out on building the new Earth and all the glory it will contain. You'll miss out on the truth reveal where everything is revealed, you'll perish in darkness with your pride.

I don't understand the proud. Like, losing a little now means nothing, you cling, so desperately, to smoke.

The Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom: It takes the Spirit of Christ to open our spiritual eyes to see Him in the scriptures.Sermon: Jesus Opens our Eyes - Luke 24 The road to Emmaus.
