Interesting dig EMN!

Makes me realise that all through those years of looking at pictures and statues of the Madonna and child in church and thinking they represented innocence and good, I was actually looking at a satanic devil holding it's soon-to-be lunch!


A little family anecdote: My father was a fine art dealer and once bought a picture that he knew to be a fake; of the Madonna WITHOUT child and hands raised in "5 by 5" position - as if to say "hands up".

When asked by my ma why he bought a fake he replied "It is a fake BUT you never see a picture of the Madonna WITHOUT child, so I bought it for its rarity value". He never tried to sell it and it's been passed down to me.


A couple of other thoughts about the Virgin Mary/Madonna:
1) Almost always shown with BLUE and white garments - signifying water and the phoenecians perhaps,

2) There seems to be a clear divide of pictures/statues of Mary between:
a) Her human life - always shown with child,
b) Her ascended, saintly persona, usually with Halo - mostly without child.

3) For a satanic godess to whom followers offer children for sacrifice, "Virgin Mary", as a name, gives very different connotations!

I get some it. China censorship is more extreme than Facebook censorship. From what I can see, Facebook is falling into the China model if it does not sort out its censorship standards.

I agree but not all are 100% sure. Some are still afraid.

My dad, who is way up in years and goes everywhere while this is going on said he thought I should wear a mask places to protect others. I told him in front of my family that I will not live in fear over this, I will social distance, I won't go out sick and I if my allergies act up and I have to sneeze I will cover and avoid people, they are allergies I can't escape.

I also said I have told my friends just because they feel the need to live in fear doesn't mean I am going to live in fear. I am not complying accept to vote and go to my office where it is mandatory. At my office we chose to close to the public and figured out to only have one person at a time in an area of the building if possible when someone needs to be there for equipment or supplies.

Upper management loves it so much and don't want to hear whiners say so and so isn't wearing his mask properly. As much as anything that is why they have said we're working on a way to sell some property and make this as permanent a plan as can be made since we have prove our efficiency in getting our jobs performed. Analyzing data sure can be done from afar. I am thinking of moving to my retirement home we plan to build in the woods early since I may not have to come in to the office more than a few times a year.

If we just need a nasal spray then Baal Gates won't be able to sneak a chip in.

I am for NOT getting chipped with a shot.

There is a condition known as "aphantasia" where one cannot visualize images voluntarily.

In other words, if I tell someone with aphantasia to envision a green meadow with brown cows happily grazing, they are not able to visualize it. They don't dream in visual images either.

Yes I am not able to envision images. I feel as though I more so feel the image. My wife says she knows I dream some times because I talk in my sleep, but I definitely have no recolection of the dreams or know I dream. I used to though. I remember flying and jumping buildings. I also remember many nightmares as a kid. Nowadays I dont remember anything.

Does this mean I am SOL on making things manifest because I can not envision things?

There's a regiment at the end of the sleep cycle that blocks access to the memory that the dream created. You can almost feel it creep in as you wake up.

Surely it varies greatly from vivid dreamers to people who suppress 99.99%. Now, iirc, everybody does dream. It's just a matter of recall. Apparently, what is happening during sleep and dreams is we replay daily life and screen out the usable info, and retesting some of our decisions during the day. So, the 18 hrs of TV shows and bubble baths and broken spark plugs gets edited down to a highlight reel and stored away pretty much intact. I cycle between more or less dreaming about 2 months, a guess. I do welcome a deep dream, but it occurs less as you get older.

As for bizarre dreams that seem unrelated to daily life, we have both archetypes and "fantasy" life (inc irrational fears) to draw upon. My wife used to have bad dreams and I explain it to her as no big deal, she is just pushing out fears and the dream is a good way of "getting over it". I think she's a little better now.

I think most people only remember one every now and then if they do at all. I am one that have remembered dreams on rare occasions.

I have remembered the Tornado dreams I have had wake me since I was a boy of 4 and saw my neighbors house be hit with a Cat 5 that formed near their home and roared by their house killing them and slaughtering the farm animals. Moving to a Church and picking the building full of people and dropping them across miles of farmland to their deaths. I have a good reason to be afraid of Tornado's and I have to tell myself after watching footage to not have a tornado nightmare.

I hope that helps a bit understanding those of us who do occasionally remember our dreams. Nightmares, I remember. I do recall remembering a few happy dreams that I can remember enough to say I wish I had that one again.
