Jay your bias toward your wife's nation (yes I remember from another thread your defense of China because of her) is bordering on treasonous, maybe you and your wife should return to mainland China so you can stand for the country your allegiance is to. America will not stand for this threat upon our existence any longer. They have damaged our nation on levels that cannot be calculated and it was all preventable. Something I've been thinking about lately.
Back in the cold war, the vast majority of destruction was concentrated in the northern hemisphere, the USA, Europe and USSR all destroyed, leaving the southern hemisphere largely untouched.

The consequences rightly forced everyone to pull back from a hot war.

Now, with this new cold war developing in the southern hemisphere and largely in the Pacific, I wonder if there is a greater chance of it going hot?

There isn't the same interest it seems in avoiding the destruction as there was when it was a Northern hemisphere war that was the threat.

Commenting on American problems as you have done has left the impression you're American, I don't get involved in the UK or dictate your politics, now if the UK is going to stand with the world against the communist threat which it seems it has decided to do so, well then, "England expects that every man will do his duty."

Finally I will not engage or tolerate accusations of hatred, because it has nothing to do with race or creed, but rather a nation, a government far far away which has done nothing but spread pain, suffering and death to the world. The fact that such a terrible virus came from their nation should see that China is contrite and seeks to repair the harm it has caused to the world, that's what the United States would have done, yet instead they are completely defiant in the face of it, attacking and invading their neighbors (India), taking large swaths of Ocean against international standard and law, building militarized islands (which are fighting positions) where they have no right to.

Jay these are acts of war, the writing is on the wall, either you will stand for the West or allegiance is to the enemy. Has nothing to do with hate, it is a matter of duty. Patriotism is a good thing, believing in your home, your country and your people is a good thing and I will defend my nation against all enemies foreign and domestic.

China is a very egregious example of the wealthy being the ruling party. The CCP is comprised mostly of very rich people who became enriched by being in the party and wish to remain enriched.

China is a single party state probably best considered fascist despite called communist. It's rulers are unaccountable, either to thier own population, or to anybody else. Enriching it to build a giant modern military was a 30 year error.

Fortunately Covid 19 seems to have woken the west up to the need to decouple from it and treat it now as the emerging threat that it is. Better now than later.
