For those occasions when you set out to do a 10 minute job and get to daydreaming. Upon finishing and exiting the room, the boss yells "An hour and a half! For a 10 minute job?"

"Damn! That temporal displacement syndrome again."

May also be referred to as TMS: Time Misplacement Simplex or simply losing track of time.

Then someone began making bikini's in the stars and stripes and I just had to get over my revulsion

It took me a while to come up with a follow up. After looking at some sample pics of flag bikinis and trying to tie that in with hoisting, somehow flagpole came up.

So forget flagpole. Mast!

Doug yells out "Stephanie, that's the Coast Guard. I lost my flag. Quick run your bikini up the mast so they see we're Americans."

Stephanie says, "No way! You aren't going to get me out of my bathing suit that easily."

Doug grumbles to himself, "Damn" then says "Okay, just go to the bow sprit then."
