Sounds like a war zone

There are so many fireworks going on right now it looks like the town is on fire.
I figured since all of our local towns canceled their fireworks shows that the hill jacks would spend extra on their own stash..
Man was I right on that one.

Can’t fathom the amount of money literally burned tonight...

America has its pride on tonight...with Chinese munitions...haha

It is nuts here in Chicago. Of course, you can't tell if it is fireworks or gun fire....

It is nuts here in Chicago. Of course, you can't tell if it is fireworks or gun fire....

According to the CPD scanner right now there's been a lot of gun fire.

We have the city cops and county sheriffs setting on top of our raised highways calling in locations to the tactical head quarters set up just to bust and ticket offenders it's all about revenue money.

To be entirely honest, a warzone is more peaceful than this. Nothing quite says "America" like the nice mix of alcohol, illegal aliens blaring "tuba music", and aerial fireworks going off at the rate of hundreds per second. I'm really hoping a "space invasion" is next on 2020's "to do list" and they let me come with them.

Never thought of it, but you may be onto something. They seem bent on starting an all out war with me, and it is 4th of July, if Will Smith shows up wearing a jump suit I'll know for sure.

Been a pretty nice weekend weather wise, so I expect the body count to be high....

It is really starting to pick up here outside Vegas.
I’m saving my boom booms for later tonight when it really starts to pick up.
Right now I am just playing with sparklers like a child.

I'm just glad other people blow their money and I get a free show.

It’s nearly midnight in the village where I live. All is quiet and peaceful. Never ASSUME life is the same where you live as where I live.

I live in a medium sized city... About a mile from downtown. This year it's been non stop since before the sun went down. Definitely a contrast between this and other years.

I think there is just an overwhelming sense of angst from everyone this year.... And it's oddly satisfying to hear this come out from everyone. I think everyone decided to let their hair down, and just spill it all out tonight.

I have heard more Mortars going off today than I have ever before (outside of my time working Pyro or a known show).

I suspect some are from the company doing the town's show checking wind conditions etc.
But certainly not all. Mortars are not easy to get a hold of in California.

Isn't that the point? The 4th of July is a reenactment of bombings. Pure and simple symbolism.

When I lived in big cities, I ignored sirens and was concerned when I heard gun shots...

Now, I live in the boonies. I ignore gun shots, and become concerned when I hear sirens...

I think OP is pointing out the contrast between this year and others while asking if that's the same case with other members where they're at.

I just got hit by someones roman candle that got loose way down the street. My foot is burned, and there were a few fires out front
