Yeah and.. BOEING.. It is a McDonnell Douglas.. BOEING has nothing to do with it.. it is like Mig would buy Sukhoi and named SU-27 as MIG-27 (there is allready a real MIG-27.. but youll get the point..)
And C-5 first flew in 1968 the C-17 in 1991..

These are aircract of differend generations..

The problem is F-14 was not made for DOGFIGHT but rather a platform for long range Phoenix missiles.

The F-14 was also designed for dogfight. It can turn better than the F/A-18 due to the variable geometry wings.

Instantaneous turn rate:

F-14 Tomcat: 18.7 grd/sec
F/A-18 Hornet: 18.5 grd/sec

Sustained turn rate:

F-14 Tomcat: 14.3 grd/sec
F/A-18 Hornet: 12.3 grd/sec
