I've just remembered the remarkable "John Smith has been arrested!", put up by the user John Smith himself. I've changed the name, because members followed the news stories he quoted and turned the spotlight on the OP's revealed employment, and he had to leave us.

I never knew what he looked like until he passed and I smiled because he really did look like his avatar! He use to randomly send me links with instructions to find hidden content and links. I loved it! We never really chatted he would just send me links he knew I would love.


I will miss this place so much and all these threads.

Thanks, used to be a member back in the day but forgot name/password and had to re-join. I miss the old ATS when it was mostly stuff like this. Now it's just a watered down version of Storm Front. Very sad, lol.

The Astr0 thread was amazing. I've also read and learned a LOT from many of the posts in the Aircraft forum. Some of the unexplained sightings (Wichita, Texas) had me checking daily for updates.

Such fond memories of the Serpo thread.

Lots of memories of my time on ATS many years ago. Loved the chat rooms.

I remember an ATS where literally none of the topics were specifically intended to trigger "lefties," or "libs," or "commies," unlike the approximately 80 percent now. It was so much less toxic. I'm not even a "lefty," yet I drop in less and less frequently just because of the smug vitriol and rancor. How do people get through their day carrying around so much animosity? Baffling. I guess that's why this place is rotting on the vine.
