Well, credit to the Trump campaign on this. Way too risky at the moment given the recent spikes. Certainly not worth the lives of Alabamans. Glad Trump is finally listening!

Donald Trump’s campaign has reportedly cancelled plans for the president to appear at a rally in Alabama next week after local officials expressed concerns about a mass gathering in the state amid soaring coronavirus infections.

Mr Trump has endorsed Tommy Tuberville, former Auburn University football coach, in the state’s GOP senatorial elections against his own former attorney general, Jeff Sessions.

The rally was set to be held before the state’s primary elections later this month, but was indefinitely postponed on Tuesday

Alabama is fairly red so I have no doubt he would have gathered the crowds. My only question is, how far will they be willing to go. Talks about the movement of the Republican convention are already underway. There's no sign of this spike going down anytime soon? Are we going to have no campaign rallies these elections? These are different times.

I don't understood the point of having a rally.
I've never attended one and still manage to figure out who to vote for.

Do you collect campaign funds or does the entry fee go to the arena?

Why do we need rallies right now? Everyone knows how they're already going to vote. You would be very hard pressed to find an undecided voter in this country. I've made my mind up over the last few years, if others have failed to do so they haven't been paying attention.

You mean like you and the other 14 people that gathered for the Biden rally earlier today?
Embarrassing doesn’t even begin to describe Biden.
Your hate is going to rot your insides.

I still want a debate or two.
Watching biden melt would be comedy gold.

Of course he probably already has a copy of the questions so he can memorize his scripted answers.

His rallies are only to fluff his fragile ego, airing real or perceived grievances, and make him feel like everyone loves him. I mean that in all sincerity. Seriously.

Same.

Mistake; bottling up the disease now due to political optics is only going to make it worse next fall.

Not too concerned about televised debates. I mean two people and a moderator, social distancing, easy. No need for attendees. I think we'll still get em' for sure, so you'll get to see your golden boy in all his glory.

Spin it however you want, the fact that he drew THOUSANDS in the midst of angry mobs and nCov pandemic fears shows how successful it truly was, not including record breaking online viewership.

You should stop being salty, OP is actually crediting the Trump Campaign and it IS a fairly red state, no real loss if its postpone for a couple more weeks.

Meanwhile, your boy Biden pulled in a measly 20 people, all hand picked, if anything, that's an embarrassment.

God I hope ATS is still up and running when Trump wins.

There was something like half a million online watchers. I don't think he ever had that many watchers. Normally it hovers around 40-70K. It was a major success but if you have to see the physical crowds then that is your perception of reality during a worldwide pandemic..meh.

Then you would think trump would be doing better in the polls.

Did you learn nothing from the 2016 polls? They are totally unreliable during the election year, especially with as many people as there are out there purposely skewing the results. We've all heard about Dems saying they'll vote for Republicans and the other way around. All to manipulate the manipulators. It's actually a brilliant idea.

Yeah I could see doing a debate, although even then I don't foresee that changing most folks mind at this stage. It's more for entertainment value than anything else. Which don't get me wrong, I'd certainly sit down and watch some of that.

fragile ego

This is interesting. What do you define as fragile ego? I define a fragile ego as not taking any criticism, and yet here we are, with the President taking the advice of others, in spite of his fragile ego.

This confuses me. A fragile ego would surely go ahead regardless, after all, why would a fragile take advice?

Are you sure fragile ego means what you seem to think it means?

You linked an OPINION piece, which was RATIOED on Twitter, which just further undermines your message.

Nevermind the fact that you're seemingly ignoring the polling debacle of 2016, or perhaps willfully ignoring it.
