And I have some questions, like how was proof provided of successful attacks for the Afghanis to claim the bounty? What evidence did they need to provide, and to whom did they need to provide it, in person, via the Internet?

Now that I'm reading the original article in the NYT, which has long since morphed from "The Grey Lady" into "TDS Central", this story gets more fishy by the minute.

From the story:

The intelligence assessment is said to be based at least in part on interrogations of captured Afghan militants and criminals. The officials did not describe the mechanics of the Russian operation, such as how targets were picked or how money changed hands. It is also not clear whether Russian operatives had deployed inside Afghanistan or met with their Taliban counterparts elsewhere.

So they gleaned this 'intelligence' from ... "captured Afghan militants and criminals". WELL, ARE THEY TALIBAN OR NOT? Because I certainly wouldn't take the word of any old Opium king pin/local warlord that they happened to be interrogating.

Besides, this is the lot that's constantly snickering and whining about the value of intelligence taken from interrogation of prisoners.

Think hard, think really hard about this type of information. The MSM is constantly, CONSTANTLY beating the war drum to provoke tension between US and Russia.

WHY? Cui Bono?

Maybe someone is trying to run cover for China? Trying to reset the narrative to take pressure of the CCP?

This whole story is laughable, with very little evidence provided, and funny how it always leads back to the default MSM bogeyman, the Russians.
