I’ve gone to the ATS Working Group site every day, and there have not been any posts on there since 8/18/20.
Any updates as to the progress on purchasing ATS?

Sorry I didn't see this when posted. There seems to be a problem with notifications on thread replies.

I'm sorry, but there is nothing to update at this time.

Can you buy something with a negative value? However, a tipping fee is feasible and more appropriate — you take it off their hands and they’ll pay you for the trouble.

Maybe the owners should get in touch with the Chinese. I am sure they would be interested!

I'm sure there are many here that would welcome new CCP overlords with open arms, but Bill said they're vetting purchasers to prevent that kind of thing.

I'm afraid not.

The Chinese have long been responsible for “dumping” goods into US/World markets — given their propensity to buy/sell goods with a negative value, I can’t argue with your suggestion.

Everyone notice the banner at the top of the page indicating the site is for sale?

Everyone also notice it did something to the font as well...

For a while it was a giant red box, I thought ATS was trying to signal that the chinese troops were arriving on shore.

SO said advertisers are shifting away from advertising on websites that have comments, and this site is all comments, so, that would make it hard to get advertisers now.

When I didn't sign in before, I got ads, but signing in seemed to stop the ads. I don't know if that's still the case, I'm usually signed in. But if you want to check it, try using the site when you're not signed in and see what happens then.

That's a very prominent new "for sale" banner.

Gotcha, I know ad revenue was waning, ad blockers, and like you mention, advertisers moving away from forums.

that's because it use to be ( and i'm not sure about what they called it) according to Way Above Top Secret Score. after a certain score the ads were reduced.

I think you're right, it was probably something like that, though I never found out the exact details. If it was WATS score, how high did it have to be for that change in ad behavior to happen?

So new members with low WATS scores might still see as many ads when signed in as when not signed in.

as i said i'm not sure what it was called or what the score had to be. i just remember a thread about it when the ads started increasing. ads have always been a point of contention on ATS.

i also believe your right about seeing as many ads with a low WATS score.
