How hard is it to maintain a website?
Costly?

TextThere is no way in hell that a site with this level of traffic should not be able to cover costs with ad revenue.

Depends on the website, what it does, how many simultaneous users there are, how much storage it requires, what kinds of bandwidth its servers require to get content to users and a whole big list of other things.
Same for costs.
ETA - You want to go into competition with YouTube?....get out your wallet!! (and your checkbook, and your credit cards, first born, etc). Actually, forget it...you and every single person you've met in your entire life couldn't afford it!! Conversely, if you want to start up an underwater basket weaving discussion forum with a couple dozen members an no significant storage requirements...you could probably do it for free.

Is that stuff expensive? Just trying to compare to another business that has monthly rent, utility fees, employees. Definitely no physical labor involved?

More physical labor than you might think i.e. Managing the Servers and Networking requires a physical person.

EXACTLY ATS is the premiere forum for all things Conspiracy, Taboo etc etc etc.
Obviously I am missing something behind the scenes here because there is definitely a real business opportunity here with this website , I am assuming there is some sort of debt that can know longer be managed or a serious break down in leadership beyond that ATS itself is a Premium name.

I know I'm in the minority... and I don't mean for this to come off as a slight or disrespect to the folks that have maintained this site behind the scenes as well as those individuals that have provided loads and loads of well thought out insight in these very forums over the years. At its peak, ATS was truly the a fantastic thing to behold.
But given the direction ATS has gone in the last 3-5 years and all of the political rhetoric and garbage posts with nothing but childish and frankly, stupidly thought out mudslinging between red and blue... I gotta be honest, I wouldn't mind if we just lit a candle and watched this thing fade out of existence.
I miss the old days with tinfoil hats and good old fashioned conspiracy theories. Not everyone throwing out half assed clickbait posts with poorly thought out political garbage. ATS has been a shell of its former glory for a long time now.
Hat tip for the glory days.
