This is for a friend .

His kids are teenagers , upper end .

He's received info and recorded it that they're being supplied mdma for an overnight party with friends

The supplier lives in the house with the kids as a lodger . The dad doesn't live there but the mum knows about this and is helping with payments .

The kids are inexperienced with hard drugs , an average pill of mdma contains 0.1 gram but they're getting a gram of it between about six .

If it was weed or alcohol it wouldn't matter , not illegal and not that dangerous . But kids have sometimes died from taking mdma and besides , nothing is known about the quality of the substance or the origin.

There is however informations and evidence regarding the supplier .

If this was your kids or your friend what would you do
or advise about this situation , in which the party itself hasn't occurred as yet .

Police raid.
Mother belongs in prison, deserved to lose custody years ago.
I'm watching the same thing unfold myself, kids are under ten right now but heading down that same path because the mother is insane, yet the system always favors the mother.

Good luck.

Agreed with others, I was no angel growing-up but the pills and powder aren't what they used to be, they have massively increased in potency.

Once so-called legal highs became prevalent, they wrestled the market away from MDMA suppliers, in response, the potency of MDMA was hugely increased to make it more attractive.

A few inexperienced kids have died on the island I live on due to messing with that stuff.

If it were my kids, I'd be kicking doors down.

Good luck,

Teenagers aren't exactly kids. If the Father knows his teens are trying to goto a party and he doesn't want them to, it's his responsibility to not let them go.

I've never heard of a dad who secretly surveils his children with recordings then lets them do whatever. The fact that he's recording them but perplexed how to handle the situation is weird in itself. They're almost adults trying to experience life for better or worse. If they were legal adults as they will be very soon, he wouldn't be able to do anything about it except tell them not under his roof, plus surveiling young adults would borderline on creepy.

A friend of his shouldn't do anything except give him some advice and go about their day; it's not their kids or their responsibility to get involved.

P.S. It's the teens who came up with the idea and are putting the "supplier" up to it because they happen to have a friend who has a friend who can get it etc. As for the amount they're trying to get, it's common to take some mdma, then hours later take a little more. Also, taking two ecstasy pills versus one is common. Sure they'll be really high having a coming of age experience, but splitting that much among six people evenly shouldn't be an overdose requiring medical help (in my opinion).

Information/education is important, like making sure the use is short term, lots of problems can be caused by this if taken often,

Also mixing it with certain meds or drugs can cause a serotonin syndrome, that can be fatal.

And by the way, kids and weed don`t mix.
One can easily develop a dependence that will be with them for the rest of their lives.

I personally would just beat some sense to people.

You make it sound like such a terrible thing. Smoking marijuana will addict you for life. A lot of people pick it up and put it down, or try it when younger even smoking for some time then stopping when they get older.

I was smoking as a teen and young adult. Now in my 30's, I wish I could get the enjoyment out of it that some other people do but it just messes with me. Negative side effects without the positive ones. I don't have a dependency for the rest of my life.

I said one can easily develop a dependence,

Besides the modern strains are stronger and therefore more addictive.

I hear about it all the time, folks say i have smoked all my life, but i am not addicted and can stop anytime i want.

Tell the father to have a talk with the kids.
They are going to do it regardless of what is said to them.
If their minds are set on doing it, peer pressure and everything... the kids will do it no matter what is said or done.
They will find away.

Have the father educate the kids about the dangers of MDMA.
If its actual MDMA, it's fairly safe in low doses and is being considered as a medical treatment for depression.
Tell the kids to have plenty of water available.
If they start to feel like crap, drink a bottle of water - back in the game in a matter of minutes.

Interesting range of answers to this , thanks everyone

All options appear to have pros and cons , and keeping a variety of options on the table makes sense , including doing nothing

I find it hard to believe there are between 1 and 6 grams of mdma in one pill.

Are they the size of a snickers bar?

You say, "Hey! Kids! Give me those! You, uh, shouldn't be taking this stuff and I'll, um, dispose of it for you."

Fentanyl poisoning. My Best Friends Son passed two months ago, forever 39. Did he expect it or plan it ? No he was another news bite, another statistic. An unsuspecting victim of the Drug world. What was he like ? He was a successful graphic artist, working on many movies. www.imdb.com... and not your usual druggy. Or is that what we would tell ourselves.

Of Course he had no intention of losing everything, none of us do when we risk it. And that's what it is.... Risk

"If this was your kids or your friend what would you do

I can only tell you, Dustin will forever be 39..

I knew him from birth, the whole family from after high school onward.
Just one mistake is all it takes DrBluechip..... are you willing to risk it, or be content with hindsight...?SAY SOMETHING WHILE YOU CAN

If it is in pill form split it in half and split it again and do just a 1/4 hit. I remember back in the day splitting window pane into 1/4

Definitely sums up the issue. Sad and it's a widespread story... successful people, happy people just wanting a night partying and end up dead, never fitting the classic druggie description (not that any of them deserve to die either). I did all sorts of drugs when young. I tried to explain to my kids that back then some people overdosed, most of us survived, but it was from too much of the known drug. Nowadays, so different with fentanyl and it's variants. My kids, only in their late teens, have lost a few friends already to this. I just can't imagine who in their right mind would add it to the drug supply in the first place.
