back in the 80's Reagan shut down the mental health hospitals, and referred people to home care instead. As a result. people that didn't have a home, or anybody basically fell through the cracks. You are right in that most the homeless are mentally ill in some way. The none violent stay homeless, the violent wind up in prisons vs the hospitals. If you want to fix the homeless issue, you have to fix the medical issue. To fix the medical issue, (socialized medicine), you have to fix the illegal immigrant issue, (20 million illegals), the trade imbalance issue (to the tune of 2.5 Trillion), and the offshore, and contract issue. (millions of jobs with low wage, temp position with no benefits.) Further you need to fix the massive deficit incurred being the world police. Our economy is pretty unstable right not due to covid and the protests. I am a firm believer if you give people something to live for, they don't have time to be idiots. If you bring good paying jobs to the USA, that will fix the issue. Then you just need to get the idiots on the left AND right out of the way.

And our president is being critized for doing that.

when bad is too bad, even good can do no good

my post about educating the youth was spot on, I need to find but maybe you folks can do a search of my post.

you know it's odd but i have friends in seattle and they're saying all the drama in the msm is way overblown and if anything it's just like there's more tourists around than usual.

Strange how much ats seems to love lapping up the msm view when it aligns with their preconceptions hey
Breh, Seattle was a dump BEFORE this issue, especially the rampant homelessness.

...except for Greg Bear, he's about the coolest thing in Seattle, Three Hull Zero was bizarre but gratifying in its culmination, his Halo universe books, incredible.

This x1000.

The companies moving there don’t reflect a dead and dying city. The quality of life doesn’t reflect a dead and dying city. The culture doesn’t. And the rent sure as heck doesn’t reflect a dead and dying city either.

Lmao.

I think right wingers like to tell themselves Democratic cities are hell holes to help reinforce their warped world view. Then again, a place where immigrants are welcomed and cannabis is legal probably seems like a hell hole to most conservatives.

From my experience last year

Please rest of United States don't become like Seattle

TextFast forward 40 years. I spent the week in Seattle this week. What I have seen with my own eyes has hurt my very soul.
My flight was a little under 2K miles. My entire flight was sunny, until we descended on Seattle, the skies were dark. It wasn't just the color,
it was as if it there is an ever looming evil sadness hoovering over the city.

The city is so dirty, there are homeless everywhere. Sick people everywhere. Housing is out of reach. People are sleeping anywhere and everywhere.
Any sense of morality or decency is gone. I'm not a very religious person but I liken it to Sodom and Gomorrah. Casinos everywhere, pot sellers everywhere. I saw a pimp with his prostitute. Her black eye, her red eyes, quickly biting a burger and then going to stand on the corner. She look around my daughters age. My heart sank. I wondered how life brought her to that point. Nobody cared, everything upside down seemed to be normal here.

Well for one they didn’t take over a city. And the district they are properly protecting is granted since they believe the government has lost the ability to do so grants them the right to do so.

Though it is a fine line they are using. And I assume most are property owners then they some ground to stand on.

at least you admit the liberal government there has failed. baby steps.

Mental illness is a big player in homelessness.
Our government likes to overlook this, because free Healthcare is not in the best interest of big pharma, who happens to be their best friend.

Eh? What does 'free healthcare' have to do with it?

Mental illness is virtually always caused by extreme nutritional deficiencies (not enough good things) combined with extremely poor diet (lots of bad things).

For years the Gov't has been about splitting up families, and doing away with the family structure.

How are they doing this do you think? It would seem BLM has the same intention
Under the Black Lives Matter What we Believe they state:

We disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure requirement by supporting each other as extended families and “villages” that collectively care for one another,

Interesting to note they also call for "Sustainable Transformation" in their Communities. That wording is right out of Agenda 2030. Not surprising when you realize who supports them

That cannot be ceded.
And , you did not answer the original question :
In which country does their Constitution allow a takeover of a city (or any part thereof) ?
No more deflection.
Straight up answer.

Ok fine straight up answer.
None that I am aware of. There ya got me by the balls on that one.
And ya I was deflecting.
Ya got me on this one but next time.......next time maybe I shall win.

As a consultant who travels (before Covid of course) to pretty much every major US city, every major city I've been to, regardless of leadership is a hell hole. Not a political thing, cities are just terrible in every possible way.

I live in Seattle, and have since 79. Let me explain. The Liberal politicians have created this homeless situation on purpose, with a greater agenda in mind. Has been going on the last 8 years or so extremely bad. Liberal problems far longer. Seattle resides in King County Wa, which is rural and mostly right leaning, but the population base of the city itself far outnumbers the rest of the state. A govoner once said "All the votes I need to get elected I can see from the top of the space needle" I believe that was Gov Rosellini back in the day. Screw the rest of the state.
They almost made it illegal to arrest someone for drug possession/ using and have been pushing for safe zones for the homeless and druggies to shoot up. ALL BY DESIGN
IS it the CIA pushing the heroin? They took the pills away from the Mafia and gangs because it was direct competition to the CIA's Heroin. They want the population to be hooked on drugs, and then completely rely on the State for $$ for Welfare. They do NOT want the population to be self reliant. They have tried unsuccessfully to place overburdening taxes onto business to help pay the homeless costs to cloth feed and shelter. BUT there has been millions spent with zero accountability. AH HA moment as to the by design mentioned above.
I have even thought of starting a charity simply because that is one of the few ways to make $$.
The Protests were real, and the riots were real. Damage downtown was very sad.
This latest bull# up on Capitol Hill in Seattle, is just that. It's a VERY small area where they put up barriers. Mostly hippies, homeless and wannabes lots of looky loo's during the day. The protesters are simply putting up photo ops, with the Media eating it up. Washington State's Govenor and Trump hate each other about as bad as Obama and Arizona's old Gov, what's her name? Shaking her finger at Oblama on the Tarmac?
Seattle's TV News is a joke. Spoon fed crap from the elected officials. They couldn't report a real story if they Tried. One true news source is Dori Monson, Kiro Radio news talk. He's got a real pulse on the situation. I live in zip code 98118 which is one of the most racially diverse zip codes in the Nation. Not a great neighborhood but it does it's job. For years the Gov't has been about splitting up families, and doing away with the family structure.
Protests... stay on track....These lates are simply photo ops for attention, to divert us away from something else.... I'm riding out the storm, waiting to see how this play's. Diversion after Diversion. There wouldn't have been so many people if they had been at work, but with Covid19 or the China Syndrome, everyone wouldn't have been so board and needed to get out and stretch their legs.
This is by design people. Across Lake Washington in Bellevue, I witnessed and took pictures of 8 big white busses parked behind Walmart where they were bussing in the protestors. Paid I am sure by the famed SOROS but I have no proof of who paid them. I only witnessed the bussing. I went back each day and watched after I first spotted them and their location. This was only one of the many bus locations. Cheers, but be advised of the bull# media attention being directed to this latest take over. The Dems are baiting Trump I believe. Cheers!

You get a standing ovation from me sir, I have lived in Seattle since '72 and could not have spelled it out as precisely as you have. This is exactly how this is here, its photo ops for media and drug zone at night. I'm a delivery guy so I get all over the city, and see tents in every possible place you can put one. Our downtown is still boarded up, but I noticed some tourist businesses finally opening on the waterfront, but barely any people out still.

I did not know about that Walmart in Bellevue, I might have to take a look

You are right. I loved the post on here the other day when someone actually went up to Seattle to check it out and yup, not much going on. All the hate on here is based on msm. I haven't been to Seattle in over twenty years but what I saw when I was there was impressive... One time I was homeless due to mental disability, living in my van and I was allowed to park beside the reservoir and live alongside others in the same situation for a few days. Cops came by often and as long as no one broke the law there was compassion. I never got that compassion here in Canada, ever. People on here laugh at the CHAZ and the vegan food request but I honestly can't believe it to be true because when I was there my friend took me to the soup kitchen in the capitol hill area that offered both vegan and meat lasagna, cooked by locals to anyone who wanted it, by donation or not. Some of the best lasagna I ever had... I tried both vegan and meat. Now I get that time has passed and the kitchens are probably shut due to coronavirus but that area of the city is/was remarkable for its human compassion. Plus there was an area closed to traffic with free buses for anyone to take. It was lovely. I know people are pissy that all that seems to be on the back of working folk taxes, etc. but I saw a culture there evolving, albeit a bit disjointed, that encompassed all humanity. There was a full mix of ethnicities, abled and disabled. This vision should be expanded, not be shut down. These were intelligent people who cannot accept that people go hungry or go without medical care while militaries world wide spend billions on violence. Sounds like I'm a socialist, but my point is that we can enable a message without violence if we know the truth and support it.

I have a friend who works in the septic cleaning business.
He said after 20 years he could longer smell #.
Perspective may play a part in your friend's conceptions.

I may have seen your friend, this city now has tons of these septic high pressure street cleaner units. It's how you clean up that much waste on the streets that are no longer safe.

This city needs all new council and mayor, we broken
