So the chimpanzees look to an alpha male to lead the troop. The alpha arises based on his strength intelligence concern and compassion for weaker members of the troop
Unlike what we generally see, the alpha is not just the strongest and aggressive, it must also be smart and compassionate
Should it become aggressive and dangerous the lesser chimpanzees will gang up on the alpha male and tear it to shreds. 2 or 3 lesser males can kill the alpha effortlessly


So the police leave
Gangs will roam the street looting and jostling for power, anarchy will reign resulting in bloodshed death and violence while the power struggle continues. eventually a stronger gang will arise in the violence to power and govern the area.
The victor would normally be the largest tribe with the most advanced tech. Their rule is awash with self service from the dictator down to officer core to soldiers and then civilians, should outsiders want to gain some reward they would need to join the dominant tribe ostracising themselves from all others. Should those outsiders remain outside they would lose much privilege and protection and be considered enemies or potential enemies

Though the bulk of bloodshed would have ended temporarily the death toll would continue, smaller tribes would become terrorists, await opportunities, plan small skirmishes, asasinate and sabotage at any given chance. The smaller tribes jealous and envious would be constantly harassing and goading the alpha tribe. One death would be met by a slew of retaliatory deaths. “Kill one of mine and I will kill 10 of yours”

Health system would collapse, social systems would collapse, antagonists would become prisoners of their society, refugees would flood the oppression while criminals would join to ply their trades. The Justice system would collapse and become a revenge system of government, though anarchy would have been replaced with dictatorship the violence would become endemic. Economic collapse is imminent within a society governed by a dictator and populated by criminals
We would be looking at a “Snake Plisskin” like society. It’s not just a movie, it’s a prophecy.

Invasion as a given, be it a “police” force or a neighbouring tribe, invasion is a given. Within a fallen state, the society must trade to survive, weapons, drugs, food clothing require payment, require outside assistance.
Lawlessness allows crime, criminal elements to flourish, criminal activities to increase, illegal products to be made and traded freely. The fallen society becomes ostracised and a target of neighbouring communities affected by these activities.

After the lawless societies government is overthrown, the leaders charged, imprisoned or executed, the community would rebuild. Distrust, agenda, revenge and poverty would remain for at least two generations to fade over time as a memory until
It all starts again

People have and will return to their lowest form when no authority is in place.

There is no upside for lawlessness, just look at what the police have become, a law unto themselves, look at the outcome.

I think the premise is wrong, or skewed somewhat. Mob rule, has connotations for humans as well, regardless of the source [sic], all depending on what you call a 'mob' and that's why anyone should be able to define, or differentiate between a 'mob rule' and not the flag waving, that is more a dumbing down.

People don't need to become to their lowest form necessarily, and while people are not always the same, there is still the air of empathy for all things human.
The biggest threat to humanity, IMHO, is that you should need to have to pay for your life.

Even alpha male chimpanzees know they have to look after the weaker more vulnerable members of the group, that greed and bullying will only get them killed in the short term
Societies survive by looking after each other and justice is one of the major components of society
Police kill people and we have a retaliation, people in lawless societies kill each other
The police must be held accountable and treated with as much contempt as they show society or there is a breakdown, a serious breakdown.

Seattle seems very calm, controlled and operates within societies standard. What if a wanted criminal took refuge in the no police zone, the police come in to arrest them?
