A deputy sheriff in California was ambushed last night and shot in the head. Looks like he will survive.

I’ve been around ATS long enough to be able to observe the cycle with BLM.

Black person gets killed by a cop. BLM resurfaces. Media goes nuts with it. ATS picks it up.

ATS sees a bunch of posts about white people being killed and/or cops being killed asking why the media isn’t all over those too.

Kerfuffle with BLM quiets down. ATS stops posting about cops being killed and white people being killed unless it’s a sensational story.....kinda like the much maligned media does.

Wash, rinse, repeat. Some of y’all need to stop acting like you give any more of a # about cops being killed or white folks being killed than you give about black people being killed. It’s pretty obvious you only care now because somebody else cares about a black man being murdered by a cop.

A number of factors maybe.

Could be the coming out of the Covid slumber, coupled with a very sad and graphic video of the murder.

A president who had an empathyectomy at birth.
I think this will lead to something when the smoke is cleared.

The same morons who wanted you to stay home for months even if it meant going bankrupt and losing your business in case it could save just one life now don't give a flying crap about people being murdered.

So if he acted alone, should we not dig into how he was influenced by the current anti-cop sentiment being pushed hard by the media and political figures? The same people pushing this snip seem very willing to blame anything they can on Trump's or Republican 'incitement'.
Part of the OPS point is that there is a clear double standard here when assessing people's motivations for criminal acts - at least that is the way I read it. Seems valid to me.
It would be much better if views were consistent.
Either politicians and the media carry some of the blame for inciting people to act or they don't. Picking and choosing where to lay blame is part of what is dividing people. Constant finger-pointing.
