You didn’t mention party lines...I’m afraid you just were not there.

Did they exist in the US or the rave/free party culture? Had no idea the US got to experience any of that kind of thing. Spent many a moon waiting at service stations around the UK munching microdots and white doves and put on a few of my own (Had Adam Beyer playing last Nov around $900 for a three hour set but worth every penny.

Have to say from personal experience I have seen younger millennials show the character traits of older generations. One of the illegal party line parties was in Manchester, police turned up at 1am but we wouldn't let them in which meant legally they could indefinitely confiscate the entire soundsystem (around $15,000 of equipment) once the party was over.

Around 7am we instructed the crowd to go out and surround the Riot Police Vans, not to cause any trouble or damage, simply that under crazy UK health and safety laws if someone is stood near to a sliding door on a police van the police aren't allowed to open the police car or van doors in case doing so caused an injury. Anywho the police and vans were unable to move while we loaded the soundsytem into vans and made our ways home. Couldn't have done it without the younger millennial following orders, being peaceful and having respect for the night and people behind it rather than being self-centred which I notice a lot in people in their early 20s nowadays.

Unless you have white skin, and live in America, you don't know what it's like to live in a modern society and be expected to openly apologize for not being born with brown or black skin; to be prohibited from having any influence in political and socio-economic policies that affect you when POC claim sole ownership of those issues; and be oppressed by a government that works toward taking away your right to self-determination by finding ways to cruelly and unusually punish you for your skin color -- which they justify with 'experts' dog-whistling that having white skin predisposes you to ignorance, opportunism, psychopathic mental illness, and being a danger to black American lives. If you don't have white skin and live in America, you don't know the fear of wondering how the government will punish you next for having achieved in your job, business, income-level, and assets because white achievement is viewed a human rights violation. Like modern day slaves, white people, in America, are permitted only to work towards the achievement of POC...or face consequences if they are caught doing otherwise.

The white struggle is real, in America....unless you have wealth and power, too, that is. It's ok to be rich and white. An apology on Insta ensures your freedom.

I feel ya. i was born in 1990. I'm 30 now, and I know some real "special" 20-somethings. You're not alone in thinking there is a divide in Millenials.

It's a pretty common notion to deny anyone born after the first few years of the 90s Millennialism. There are people who were born in 97 or 98 and they want to consider themselves a 90s kid or a Millennial, but they just weren't there for it. They were still wetting the bed and nursing.

The differences in attitude shows. The older Millennials aren't anything like the younger ones.

Is that simply because we've matured and grown into adults? Probably.

Young people are, well, young and dumb. I know it's easy for a young person to think that just because they feel a certain way that's the way things ought to be, but most people eventually mature at some point or another. Unless they're just plain stupid and double down.

That's not what we're talking about lol

Where I lived we still had party lines until I was about 9 or 10.

Basically it was like an open line for people to communicate on. There wasn't any privacy. You could literally pick up the receiver and drop in on anyone's conversation.

They could also be used to put out important messages.

Want to fix the issue with millenials?

Get rid of social media. All of it. Ban it all. Draconian style.

Who ever thought it would be a good idea to have millions of like minded losers coalesce into a group. Seriously people. Logic.
A demon wave is blowing over these disaffected youth. They will march to the beat like the good sheeple they are.

If you think things are bad now... Just wait for their kids in twenty years. We'll need to mass produce lithium to control the populace.

(GET YOUR GUNS AND AMMO NOW! PUT IN A SAFE WHERE, BEHIND A WALL! They will eventually change the 2nd Amendment. Sorry for the bad news.)

Naaa, you don't want to "make the world a better place" when your agenda includes "progressivism/socialism," meanwhile those millennials like you keep on lying your arses off claiminmg how "conservatives/the right are all racists." Most conservatives are less racists than a majority of left-wing millennials, and neither is President Trump a racist.

You don't care how "your rioters/looters" murdered people, including black people like David Dorn... You only care about claiming to care meanwhile you want people to be treated differently for being your political opposition.

I'm sure the generation before them who were a bunch of helicopter parents and Karens had nothing to do with it.
