Do we need a 'China' forum? I believe we do...

Hi ATS board/business team,

I'm looking at events around the world today, and across all manner of platforms & in all corners of civilised debating circles & journal-type editorials, there's a stack of stuff which is flourishing in the wake of the Wuhan debacle & the escalating trade war/ war of words between China & the USA which suggests to me that the centre of world power, if not already shifting, is wobbling dangerously close to falling off its pedestal & re-centering itself on China. As I see it, there's absolutely no way that Trump & his cadre - or almost every single American alive today - would allow that to happen.

This therefore suggests that we might be edging closer to a potential for conflict of a shooting kind with China, seeing as the trade war had already escalated into a monstrosity just prior to the appearance of COVID-19, and this has only intensified & escalated as the effects of [the response to] Coronavirus begin to really take hold of & shake our Western economies.

Is China preparing for war?

It seems ever clearer on reading up regarding the potential problems which are fermenting just below the surface, that the small explosions of trapped violence beneath the surface, may just escalate into a Yellowstone caldera explosion, even now we can see the pent up aggression & ultra-nationalist fervour of the Chinese driving them into a quiet, but serious war footing. Although everything is moderately quiet on the surface, there's some degree of coordination of minor Tweet missiles, making it plain that officials within the one-party state are being prompted on-message when they criticise the USA, when they lambast excessively regarding some US politician or other, when they joke about perceived impotence in the US security apparatus, and so on, and so on...

And it's not just in the US - they've been meddling around in Britain, cheerfully buying up our national steel holdings, and trying to subvert our telecoms security with what would certainly have been a totally parasitic 5G network (which thankfully has now been denied them). If anything, COVID-19 has shown us how stripped back our national economic platforms actually are, with so much manufacturing, and other elements of the global supply chains, being so firmly rooted in China & other linked nations which could one day very easily come under the beligerent rule of an expansionist China.

And that's another thing - you know that the Chinese actually admire the Nazi regime, and seem to regard the outcome of World War 2 with a sort of wistful nostalgia, dreaming of a world order that could have been.. Beyond the Nazis, the Chinese go further. The Nazis were harking back to Aryan man as their model of supremacy, but the Chinese seem to regard their own race not only as being superior to the rest of the nations & peoples of the world, but in absolute fact they see themselves as a separate species! They reject the 'out of Africa' model for their own origins, instead stating that there is a million years of evolution right there in China which led to a pure Chinese hominid family which populated the Eastern nations, centred in China, while the out-of-Africa hominids populated Europe & the near East/ Middle East, the two never cross-pollinating, so to speak, protecting their racial integrity. They actually believe that their own people emigrated to North America & became the American Indian nations.

Whether any of this is true, you must look at what it potentially means for their military doctrine at the core. There is no need for compassion, because we are the 'Other', we are not a part of their tribes or kingdoms. We must be avoided & ousted, milked for revenues as long as possible, and should war erupt, utterly exterminated or brought to our knees as a pittance of our former selves, shamed ultimately by the invitation of other nations to pillage & loot the war booty (in the aftermath of a mainland USA invasion by the Chinese).

They are perfectly able to train their literal national socialism, tainted with more than mere fascist overtones, going full Nazi in programming their youth with ease, owing to the CCP structure & dominance in all things as regards control of the people. Read the following article, and see what horrors could be conjured in a confrontation with a people which believes that we are not even the same species - that we are separate, de facto 'alien' races, distinct in all things, one from the other - with separate philosophical, racial & political loyalties. Beliefs which actually put the Nazis to shame in some regards, readying Earth to erupt in a battle for ultimate dominance, potentially to include extermination of all enemies should the occasion suit the premise.

CHINA - General Chi Haotian – The Secret Speech

That speech was made in 2005, and the elite cardres who received it, are now those in charge at the CCP & in their strategic command. The value of Chinese life is clearly seen to be pre-eminent, though individuals must be subsumed into the cause in true communist style, as necessary. Westerners are a useful/ wealthy/ idiot/ inconvenience - currently useful, but may one day present an existential threat. And when that day comes, the switch will be flipped & the game face will present. Violence against the West can be justified in a heartbeat, as described - violence on, violence off. To include women & children as necessary, units of selected prime sociopaths set to the task as a mopping up crew, one imagines.

If we are ever to have any hope of overcoming the threat which this type of thinking poses, we must first respect the awesome premise that we have totally, thoroughly, completely underestimated the Chinese, thinking that they'll one day gravitate towards us, meeting us in a democratic embrace when the time is right. In truth, they seem to have a vision of Lebensraum which negates the need for any other culture on the landscape - they perceive that the world is their oyster, and one day they will take it back from the slovenly usurpers who currently occupy the main seat of power. Until we can come face to face with the dark heart of that philosophy, then we are not ready to face them. If anything, we need a climb-down strategy, with a play for 'more time' while we appraise the least self-destructive path forwards. Who knows - perhaps there is a means of achieving a balance between our cultures, without the need for the struggle for gobal hegemony to be kicked around like a deadly football. Perhaps there is a future balance, perhaps an accord, an alliance, or something else - I know not what.

But China scares me, and I think it should scare all of us enough to learn more about them, before it's too late.

I sincerely believe that we need a forum to start to ask the right questions & learn from people who know & understand what it is that we're actually facing...

The thread naturally accompanies the question of whether we can have a 'China' forum, but kind of makes for a thread in itself, if you don't mind putting a copy elsewhere (somewhere I can see how it's received, with a few of those tasty & wholesome stars..)

It would be useful, I believe, especially as things move forward and more focus is spent uncovering the atrocities committed by the CCP.

But not a bad suggestion. Regional Politics is an option or WW3 if you think it so. But the Japan forum is and was primarily for the quake, tsunami and Fukushima disaster.

Good idea, and very well written thread.

Definitely interesting times where we need more voices discussing the world... and in these discussions we have to embrace the opposing viewpoint.

Careful of naming a "China" forum though ( in these volatile times), that it doesn't just become a China bashing forum. Maybe better to find language that invites in both viewpoints... not great, but something like "Ideologies - East & West".

I absolutely believe there is a means.

It will sound odd, but I believe cultural and ideological balance can be achieved in the world, through the application of a simple shift in design thinking executed at the value generation point of businesses form the AECO (Architecture, Engineering, Construction and Operations) industries.

That's a wonderful point well made, and one which as a design-oriented person myself I will find helpful to keep in mind as we witness things unfolding in the coming months & years.

Then you understand how hard you work, and how little of your effort is actually realised as "value" in the final delivery (buildings, spaces, infrastructure, cities, systems, etc.) from our industries, or in just your very wage for that matter.

Without lots of explanation... that, right there, is the "value leak" of the world, and if rectified, is also the point where these social and cultural contradictions, that the world is facing (and has been facing for 60 years), are resolved.

A subtle shift in value application of these industries will propagate a system that not only generates more value at the top, but realises the value at the bottom. This is not an idealist "everything will be hunky dory" concept, rather a shift to effectively letting the bottom have the opportunity of realising their own value by generating more value for the top.

In a sense, it's what Google tried to do (and achieved better than most), before shifting their core values (about 12 years ago) to allow for better earnings from advertising revenue.

Did you see the White House strategic approach to Communist China? It fundamentaly shifts everything we do in regards to China, that in itself could set ramifications worthy of its own forum, considering all that is happening with china at the epicenter, especially with Australia.
