Virgin Galactic is a company established by Richard Branson's Virgin Group to undertake the challenge of developing space tourism for everybody.
Virgin Galactic will own and operate privately built spaceships, modelled on the history-making SpaceShipOne craft. These spaceships will allow
affordable sub-orbital space tourism for the first time in our history.
I have to admit, the Title of the thread drew me in!
I would if I had the cash, but let the rich folks do it first, and then Mr Branson will eventually lower the price, once he has made enough
Battlecruisers to take over ..ahem....I mean Space Tourist Ships to take everyone up there..
Space ship one IS NOT A SPACE SHIP. Its a plane that barely made it to 62 miles str8 up and then fell like a rock. Pay for that, no thanks. Ill wait
for a REAL space flight. Orbital, controlled, around the world. Thats a space plane. Anyone with money could have done what they did, no problem and u
know it.
There a more than a FEW private people building spaceships, planning to sell rides to investers. Some very good ideas out there with lack of
funding....where is Bill Gates when you need him??
2 true. If only the DaVinci project had the funding SS1 did, Canada would have taken the prize. Ah well anyone who is considered in the top 3 is good
enough for me. The real test will be the market test and even other team benifitted from the exposure the X-Prize brought them. Branson will open the
door wider and when he starts to turn a profit a new industry will be born.
its predicted in 2020 for a suborbital day trip you would pay £1000. for some people it is not bad at all. but hey, if u have £115000 to spare now
you could go for that much wanted break in with that sub orbital day trip, NOW.and you missed out on a great deal in 2000, you oculd of payed only a
little price of £11000000 for one week on a spacestation. hehe, all totally true
