Ok - but there is zero proof that this is because of the wearing of face masks.

I know wearing a mask is a pain in the a__. But in February some lady sneezed on me and I was debating about wearing a mask and that did it for me. It's not a panacea or guarantee but it does seem to work, the evidence points out, in the whole picture.

You wearing a mask wouldn't have done diddly for someone sneezing on you.

I would be sorely tempted to bitch-slap someone who sneezed on me, even before this stupid virus came along.

Millions have already had it and now the masks are just a waste of time. I've had it and so has just about everybody where I work. We wear them and then take them off at lunch and sit in a breakroom. 6 feet apart( not really we still talk to each other and stand by the microwaves and sinks as always). But we work together as always. We breathe the same air so the masks are no protection. Some safeguards are actually sound like temperature checks and questions about your health. But they came AFTER this thing was spreading by at least 2 weeks. I read a letter to the editor where this dingbat was mad that people outside in a park weren't wearing masks and keeping apart. If she's this afraid to live life normally then she should stay home for 6 months. This stupidity has to end and it will end. My county is defying the Governor, along with half a dozen others and is rescinding the lockdown orders and speeding up the recovery time table. Take your lives back.

Well , the ONLY Way to Overcome Any Virus is to First somehow be in a Position to be Infected by it , then have your Natural Immune System DEAL With It . That's the big thing right there. It makes everyone *feel* good while not really doing a whole lot unless you happen to be sick in which case WHY ARE YOU OUT with or without your mask?

Disposable gloves do more good to keep you from getting infected.

Besides ... who can actually find masks for sale anywhere? And I'm not spending money on a cloth one I'm only going to use at a few select places for less than an hour once, maybe twice a week for a week or three more.

Funny how all health care workers working with corona patients wear masks. And NONE would even work if one wasn't made available to them. Even those who scream that masks hurt their immune system in the long run. You see any of these people working with corona patients without any PPE? You see any of them working with PPE but without a mask?

It really is common sense that masks have a positive effect on mitigating the spread of corona. Which begs the questions, does anyone here actually believe that the experts on TV advising against the use of masks for the general public (even the N95 type), don't know any better? And if they do know better, are they deliberately giving bad advice to increase the spread of the virus so that their bosses, Big Pharma and connected politicians and bureaucrats, can make more money on providing us with snake-oils like Remdesivir and the coming vaccins?

Add some bad health care and you're good to go in creating a bigger problem than there would have been if the general public would have worn masks like in Asia, and been given HCQ prophylactically where needed (where there is an outbreak and possible contact with corona, health care workers in particular, still the biggest spreaders of the virus because of protocol, policies and guidelines designed to increase the spread of the virus without making it too obvious to those carrying them out).

Just wearing one in closed buildings where there are more than 10 people would already help significantly. But at least general practitioners for goodness sake! In my country many of them are working with patients without any PPE whatsoever, neither them nor the patient.

Who needs a vaccin when hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) and its prophylactic effects stay around for quite a while. I've heard at least one doctor suggest that taking it once a week (assuming 200mg or 2 x 200mg) was already sufficient for its prophylactic value. A Lupus patient goes through his supply 7 times faster (taking it daily). You don't have to worry about side-effects when taking it once a week either.

But coming back to the types you spoke about, knowing ahead of time that you'll get it if you get sick, and in the early stages of the disease before needing a positive test, probably affects their attitudes as well. Not to mention that these Trump-, Boris Johnson-types get tested all the time anyway, even if they don't have symptoms (if they're not sick). So chances are that they'll discover it early so they can treat early with HCQ, which is when it works best (either as a prophylaxis or early treatment to protect healthy cells and slow down virus replication).

Health care workers wear masks all the time, pandemic or no. So what's your point? They are a part of aseptic technique, but maintaining aseptic technique requires training which health care workers, lab techs and others like them have. Ordinary citizens do not, so simply slapping a mask over your piehole doesn't do a whole lot unless you are following all the rules of the game to go along with it.

Btw, aseptic technique requires masks and gloves which almost no one wears.

I don't do uber so this doesn't affect me but now apparently you drive uber you get a mask...

I dont see how a mask will keep you from being effected by COVID-19.

First of all you might be effected by COVID-19 even before you put the mask on. It takes up to a week before you might feel any symptoms.

Puting on a mask is just stupid at this stage. A mask on a common person is just stupid because you dont have any training or rutines on how to be effective With a mask on.

COVID-19 is not only transferd by breath droplets. You can have it on Your hands, in Your hair, on your pet.

There is no way you can prevent COVID-19 from spreading. The only way is to stay put at home and to have no contact With other pepople besides Your own household.

You cant see this thing, you dont know if the bacteria is on you or inside you.
