Hi everyone. I’m not popular enough to get my own birthday thread, so I’m creating one myself.
All is good though. I’m turning 56 years young
today. My husband had a stroke in early February, and is unfortunately, permanently in a nursing home. They are giving him top notch care, and are a
terrific facility. So that gives me some comfort. And with COVID-19 going on, I haven’t seen him in over six weeks. I do call him twice a day
though. Just hearing his voice lifts my spirits. Like everyone else, I’m staying home, except to head out once a week to grocery shop. Otherwise I
try to walk 2-4 miles a day, or at least sit out on one of my patios to get some fresh air.
While these times are difficult at times, I am trying to remember to be grateful for everything I have. I have a wonderful home, and family and
friends who love me and are there for me. I try to be there for them too. Despite all the bickering I see on this site in general, there are also many
who post some awesome things that make me think, smile, or laugh out loud. So I’m inspired by what I see on here. That’s what keeps me coming
back.
I hope you all are finding ways to cope with this virus and everything else that goes with it. I’m fortunate to be retired and getting a pension, so
there is little impact on my income. I feel for all of you who lost jobs and have no income coming in. I’m also grateful for all the essential
workers who are keeping this country running. Without them, we would be in way worse shape than we already are in. I try to keep things in
perspective, and try to have some optimism. It isn’t easy, but that’s what makes life interesting.
