Good luck with that. As much as I would like to see China sanctioned for misrepresenting the seroiusness of Covid, in realistic terms, it's not going to happen. Trump won;t do it. Biden won't do it. Congress won't do it, and no other country of substance will do it either. And CERTAINLY ATS people, a powerless lot if there ever as one, do not have the wherewithall to affect any sort of change on, well, anything at all. You can bitch and moan here, but that's all you will ever do.

Why? Because over a billion Chinese don't give a crap what you or any country thinks about the issue.

The easiest way to hurt them for the average person like us ATS members, is to stop buying products made in China. It's as simple as that. So what if a domestic made product is a bit more expensive? Pay it and stop fueling their economy. Yes, I know that's not always possible, but for a large amount of items it is. So if we truly want to give them some payback, let's just refrain from paying them wherever we can.

I would like debts to unilaterally cancelled worldwide. There were people, like Bono from U2, who were pushing for this for some years.

It would allow a reset to world economies and, indeed, some unreasonable and un-serviceable international debts have occurred over time. All they are doing is acting as a millstone preventing change and growth for many impoverished nations.

A clean slate for the world economies is a good thing, and perhaps now is the time, in my estimation.

However, here in New Zealand, the sources of the virus outbreaks were the USA, Iraq and Italy (in that order). Should they be held responsible to pay reparations to New Zealand, perhaps?

This is a Chinese virus. And they (along with the ultra corrupt and now totally defunct WHO) are responsible for the world wide spread of it. Due to their intentional actions and rhetoric.

Regardless, the enemedia should be the ones held to account at the same degree. Pushing fear and false exaggerated death rates have made the easily-manipulated think that this is somehow as deadly as the SPANISH flu or the GERMAN Measles or even MERS (Middle East Respiratory Syndrome) - all very racist names for an illness and NONE of which resulted in even a minor degree of shutdown.

So if it's determined that the initial outbreak / ground zero was Wuhan, and it spread to places like the USA, Iraq and Italy, who then in turn caused an outbreak in NZ, we should hold those countries responsible and not China?

You do realize that an act of war in the current situation where US troops are depleted due to the virus, and where China's have substantially recovered, cannot be good for either country.

And, despite what you may believe, China is probably technologically superior (the whole issue of the purchase of 5G technology from China with no competitive US product, shows that), is definitely economically larger at the moment, and has a larger standing army, means that the USA no longer is in the position it once was, anyway.

And, quite simply, causing more deaths (because there absolutely would be human collateral) in the situation, is very stupid.
