I just realized I had COVID-19 on Dec. 25th last year

Yep. I had it in Jan/Feb. Sudden onset mild fever, really really sore throat (that got worse) and a mild dry cough that was persistent, especially at night.....lasted for 2 weeks.....

My entire team (of 'essential' retail workers) fell to this thing.

We just didn't know it. We plowed through.

Yes, also very sudden onset, like flicking a switch. Also, yes my dry cough was worst at night. Mine just happened when I was asleep, basically woke up with the symptoms, was fine when I went to bed at 1 am woke up and felt like a truck hit me. Also, I can normally tell when I am getting sick, usually 2 days prior. Generally I get a slight sore throat and get some sneezes a day or two before I get "sick" for my annual "cold" or sinus infection.

There's been a number of these kinds of threads, and lots of people respond to them saying they've had the symptoms. I'm with you. I think I may have had it at the end of December. Some are in denial that it could've been here that early, because the "experts" haven't said that's the case yet, but the experts don't have all the answers.

Starring and flagging. Due to the fact that I know MANY people, that have reported the EXACT same.

We have been bamboozled.

Well, it's a disease with a 50-70% asymptomatic rate and a large majority of cases are mild what do you expect? Why do you think the news only talks about infection rates and the only footage they can provide of horribly ill people are elderly people already a hairs width from death or morbidly obese already pretty unhealthy people?

The "experts" have said so. As of yesterday.....

I t was here weeks earlier then formerly thought

If the virus was confirmed to be around in December or even November, will they go back and retroactively change death certificate to say Covid-19. That would give them 2 more months of deaths to help boost their higher death rate story.

What difference would it make?

And if it's really been here that long, there's gonna be millions more people who had it and survived. The more testing gets done, the bigger that denominator is gonna get, and the smaller that death rate is gonna wind up.

As was actually predicted back in early March.

Actually, starting yesterday they are starting to say that and it's starting to be reported now.

It will also give them millions more who were infected that didn't die, thus the death rate will finally be confirmed in the tenths of a percent, not 2-3%.

That's pretty much already confirmed to anyone who can do a tiny bit of analytical thinking and some simple math.

Tell the 40k+ that died in the last month that, I'm betting they don't feel bamboozled.

Has there been overreaction..maybe, perhaps for sure.. in some areas.

I know, people are going to talk about this, or that common cause of death..the difference is, we are familliar with those things, and we absolutely do things to prevent those deaths. This is somewhat newish, and being there was no real treatment..this was all that could be done. If you think we would have the same death count sans mitigation, I think that is misguided.

I think there is a decent chance my coworker and his family had it, kids especially had the death rattle going on three weeks, this was in late February going into March.

There is no real treatment for any cold virus, other than over the counter stuff that just helps with the symptoms. If the 40K that died got the common cold or flu, they probably would have also died, just change the virus name.

They do come up with "best guess" flu vaccines ..hit or miss at best..I think..I get you.

My broader point made about comparisons earlier was including(in my head) cancer, auto crashes..etc not causing shutdowns. We try our best to prevent those. The only way to prevent, or slow this is by limiting interactions. Having said that, I have the same questions as many run through my head every day. Our #s have dropped to a steady trickle, but..who really knows how many walking around asymptomatic.

Maybe the 40k would of died, it will be hard to confirm, I guess tally the stats in a few months, and compare to previous years..if things are roughly the same, that would be fair to say. I will say, never have I heard of old folks homes being decimated like this last few months.

I'm sure a good % of people are relatively asymptomatic, it will be interesting if they can eventually get to mass antibody testing.

Me too - but I think it's likely wishful thinking on peoples part. There is no proof - no truly accurate antibody tests. Nadda.

I believe you,
My wife had something similar, she is 50 yrs old and has had the flu before so knows what it feels like. She had something just after Christmas that frightened the # out of her. She is a pretty tough cookie, but this made her cry like a baby and beg me to not leave her side. I took care of her by doing the usual soup, keep her hydrated, watch her temperature...etc This went on for about 5 days.
We have 2 kids and between us, I had the mildest, my 8 yr. old was laid up for a week and my 17 yr. old had a cough for about 2 weeks, he actually started the coughing before anybody felt sick.
This has been floating for sometime.

WELLLL, I had it before anyone else in the whole of the united states...so I'M IMPORTANT. The MOST IMPORTANTIST. So obviously I'M the expert on everything coronavirus. I have IDs and everything so its obvious I'm not just making this up or anything. ME ME ME ME ME.

I had it in 2008. Got pneumonia from it, poisoned by Levaquin, and the Covid + Levaquin ate my tendons up.

I got it back in 1990 straight out of the womb. It made me be born a whole month early, and it was so bad it gave me jaundice and I had to be placed in an incubator.

Certainly not the ones you can buy on Amazon, but as soon as the USA has one nailed down (almost there, very soon), I'll be getting one to confirm or refute my suspicions.

Someone I live with had something just like this but it was in January, their doctor didnt know what it was so they gave her a combo of 2 antibiotics and some kind of inhaler. She's 62. I'm trying to find out if one of the antibiotics she got was azithromycin. The same one you're supposed to take with HCQ.

What's crazy in my case is my wife and kids didn't get it, I'm guessing just dumb luck they didn't get it.

Some people can carry it and not get sick. I remember seeing an interview with an old couple, from one of the 1st cruise ships to have big problems, in Japan. They tested positive for over 30 days, but neither got ill.

I know a few folks who went to NYC during holidays and swear they had it. What can’t understand is how many doctors know this and are not speaking out. It’s like they are all being silenced with “well with testing we don’t know”. Reminds me of Doctors that said we need scientific proof back in 60s and 70s to prove cigarettes cause cancer. I am done with experts bull#. Maybe next age is common sense.

You mentioned that both of you had the flu shot...

There is reason to believe that people who have had a flu shot in recent years have compromised immune systems because of it.
