If I die from COVID, instructions have been issued to include my middle finger in my obit photo, a restating of my position that the cost of all of this tomfoolery was not in any way warranted, and I shall be interred with my butt poking out of my grave so anyone who tries to turn me into a tool for their fear mongering can easily kiss my ass.

People die.

I think if I die at any point between now and whenever this madness ends, there should be strict orders not to test me for COVID ... ever ... because no matter what I die from -- even if I drop over from an apoplexy relating to my son's iPad and homeschooling -- they will try to test me for COVID and blame it and then the gleeful will blame my views on all this as the reason that "karma struck me down" and not the real reasons -- the electronic platform for this homeschooling SUCKS.

Thats not a counter, that is just omitting the context on your behalf.

Lets paint a different picture. Lets say a small town in podunk nowheresville had a sudden outbreak of airborne Ebola. Do you think those infected people have a right to get out of dodge and go to disneyworld?

Once again, the new liberal montra, comparing the coronavirus to ebola. Really?

Especially since less than 1% of the US population has died from the virus despite the fact that it is nationwide. That would not be the same for ebola. This is a false comparison to support your case, and this comparison is weak and fear mongering to boot.

Even in NYC, today they announced that 2,700,000 New Yorkers caught and recovered from the virus, in a new antibody study just released. Of those 2,700,000 people who had the virus around 40,000 have died. Do the math yourself, that is less than 1.5 % of the population of NY that have had the virus have died from it. www.reuters.com... Did you know that on an average, non virus day 452 people die everyday, over the same period of time as coronavirus deaths that would be 37,000 people, that is statistically about the same number as die of the virus, but it is less than 0.01% of the population of the state of NY as is the death rate per percentage of population. NY state has nearly 20,000,000 people in it. www.indexmundi.com...

Yet with ebola the death rate without treatment is 90%. Shame on you for comparing the two, this is fear mongering at it's very worst. Ebola is the absolute worst choice to make your case and attempting to do your best to terrorize the people of the US, a common socialist propaganda method.

Of course people die. But much like these guys in the photo.

You can stay safe and not do stupid things to put you into a situation that will lead to your death or being hospitalized. Or worse your parents or kids.

My point is. Take precautions and stay safe.

You'd have those two barred from owning a pool... that's the difference between you and I. I see neither the reason for nor do have I ever felt the desire to save people from themselves. Darwin had a theory about life and, frankly, I'm extremely disappointed at how many white knights are running around emotionally driven to deny the logic of life... that logic being the simple fact that nature presses the fittest of any species to survive while weeding out the weak because it recognizes the law that proves a species' survival and ability to thrive necessitates allowing any member of the species to fail or succeed based on their own merits and situation.

I see a photo like that and my first reaction is "less rats, more cheese."

So you get that the the 10th Amendment has the power to suspend the Bill of Rights?

You've lost the argument.

Show me where scientists are saying there is a direct comparison to the seriousness and death rate of COVID 19 and the seriousness and death rate of Ebola.

They must also say that the death rate without treatment is the same to make it a valid comparison.

If you find "scientists" saying that, which is the current propaganda being spread, then yes they are fear mongering for what can only be political gain, propaganda purposes which can only be for nefarious purposes. Much like Gov. Whitmer (D) implying with her lockdown orders that, people will die a horrid death if they go into Walmart to get groceries, but also purchase seeds for their garden, or paint; or they will died a horrid death if they go fishing alone in a motorboat. That is exactly what the comparison of COVID to Ebola sounds like.

Worst case scenario with COVID 19 right now, the highest percentage of death of who catch it was at one point 4%, which means 96% of the people who catch it do not die. With the newest studies, linked to earlier in the thread, it looks more the death rate is closer to 1.5% at the most. The latest antibody studies show that between 20-40% of people who get COVID 19 have symptoms so slight they didn't know they had it at all. Therefore, absolute worst case scenario with COVID 19 is that 96% of the people will be perfectly fine.

Worst case scenario with Ebola is that 90% die. With the latest treatment available for Ebola 50% die. Those who had a mild case 0%, those who had it so mild they did not know they had it 0%. Therefore, absolute worst case scenario with Ebola in 1976 when it first broke out and there were no known effective treatements (a direct comparison) is that 90% die and 10% live and 0% have it mild. www.md-health.com... www.bartleby.com...

You claim a comparison of COVID 19 to Ebola is a good one, and scientists back you up, where do you dig up the sycophants to the elite ruling class to give you that idea.

COVID - worst case 4% die
Ebola - worst case 90% die

COVID - best case with no established treatment 98.5% live
Ebola - best case with no establish treatment 10% live

COVID - best case after less then 1 year of antibody research and trying treatment options 99% live, less than 1.5% die in the U.S.
Ebola - best case after well over 30 years of intensive research and proven treatment options 75% live 25% die

Now tell me how anyone can use that as a direct comparison of the severity of the two illnesses, and say with a straight face it is not propaganda designed to terrorize the population and make them submissive to the will of those making the comparison?

The people who do make this comparison can have only one motive, to terrorize as many people as possible, into doing what the elite political class has determined is "best for all the ignorant peons and peasants", Because, they are superior to the masses and the masses must submit to them. A very socialist/communist way of treating the working slave class, oops, the people.

My gosh, we shouldn’t allow anyone to work again! Close roads, you know how many people die daily from auto accidents? The blood is on the steering wheel of everyone who chooses to get in an automobile.

Further and further evidence is proving this virus to be way overblown in its actual risk. We know death statistics are being manipulated to be higher than the reality (if you died from cancer but had cov-19, it’s listed as a cov-19 death. Some 95% of all cov-19 mortality has had other previous conditions). The original projections we were told 250,000 + dead Americans, totally false. We are being lied to.

I should be allowed to make decisions about my actions to weigh the risks to myself and others. We all understand there is risk in driving, and choose to do so or not accordingly, we don’t close roads all together because we in fact accept the risk and the choices made in accepting that risk. Why have we lost the right to choose our risk for something so poorly understood, that seemingly poses such little danger? New study from California saying .03% mortality rate?

You shall love thy neighbor and you tell them they're doing something they shouldn't and could get killed. If they continue to do so, that's their choice.

God doesn't stop us from doing the things that will condemn us for eternity either. He simply tells us what not to do and then lets us make our choices.

So with a flood of business bankruptcies coming in the next few months, what's the best way to love your neighbor there? Continue to keep him from even attempting to save his struggling small business or let him make that decision on his own?

You can't do that, though. When an aspect of Christianity has been used in politics to legislate against something like abortion or perversion, we get to hear all the cuckoos cawing over how this country wasn't founded on Christianity and "cluck, cluck, separation of church and state, cluck, cluck" so you don't get to conveniently cite the Bible in any of these conversations.

Also, you just threw up a Bible verse in response to me citing Darwin's Survival of the FIttest theory? Really? Are we feeling a bit dense today?

So you tell your neighbor that that is a rather stupid thing to do...and you leave him to make the right, or wrong, decision on his own.

It's his life, not yours as some sort of benign despot, to live.

That is where I get off this idiocy train. I take precautions as I deem necessary. I do not need, nor do I want, some would be nanny telling me how to live my life.
