Billions of locusts have laid waste to 500,000 acres of Ethiopian cropland and unleashed a food crisis. 

A United Nations report found that the devastation caused by the swarms have left millions of citizens in need of emergency food aid.    

could to be 20 times larger than the first - which was already the worst in 70 years in some nations.

The desert locusts, some in swarms the size of Moscow, have already chomped their way through much of East Africa, including Ethiopia, Somalia, Kenya, Djibouti, Eritrea, Tanzania, Sudan, South Sudan and Uganda.

The plague of locusts made its way through Africa along the Red Sea coast and towards Egypt and Saudi Arabia. The swarm of billions of crop-devouring grasshoppers arrived after a period of heavy rain in October 2018 and wreaked devastation on countries in the Horn of Africa, with experts predicting the outbreak to grow 400 times the current size by June 2020. Yesterday, they were spotted close to Eastern Equatoria on the South Sudanese border with Kenya and Ethiopia, suggesting they are heading northbound towards Egypt.

And they've stopped to eat and breed there , and we have the above report. One newspaper claims a seventy gold increase is possible and that's not out of the question. Not much would necessarily stop them getting into southern Europe and if they reached there ... it's nice and green . Some reports said they'd go to Saudi Arabia , but there's for them on the ground there , it's desert .

All this with the Corona event contemporary to it had sparked some online biblicalisms , and oddly enough , since I know the Bible quite well , the news reports and soothsayers are avoiding the really prophetic references , going instead for chronicles and exodus. Priests and pastors of course are saying the usual , " oh plenty of time yet. The real locust prophecy is found in the book of Joel a short and often overlooked apocalyptic text of 3 chapters only.

Here it is :

The word of the Lord that came to Joel the son of Pethuel.

2 Hear this, ye old men, and give ear, all ye inhabitants of the land. Hath this been in your days, or even in the days of your fathers?

3 Tell ye your children of it, and let your children tell their children, and their children another generation.

4 That which the palmerworm hath left hath the locust eaten; and that which the locust hath left hath the cankerworm eaten; and that which the cankerworm hath left hath the caterpiller eaten.

5 Awake, ye drunkards, and weep; and howl, all ye drinkers of wine, because of the new wine; for it is cut off from your mouth.

6 For a nation is come up upon my land, strong, and without number, whose teeth are the teeth of a lion, and he hath the cheek teeth of a great lion.

7 He hath laid my vine waste, and barked my fig tree: he hath made it clean bare, and cast it away; the branches thereof are made white.

8 Lament like a virgin girded with sackcloth for the husband of her youth.

9 The meat offering and the drink offering is cut off from the house of the Lord; the priests, the Lord's ministers, mourn.

10 The field is wasted, the land mourneth; for the corn is wasted: the new wine is dried up, the oil languisheth.

11 Be ye ashamed, O ye husbandmen; howl, O ye vinedressers, for the wheat and for the barley; because the harvest of the field is perished.

12 The vine is dried up, and the fig tree languisheth; the pomegranate tree, the palm tree also, and the apple tree, even all the trees of the field, are withered: because joy is withered away from the sons of men.

13 Gird yourselves, and lament, ye priests: howl, ye ministers of the altar: come, lie all night in sackcloth, ye ministers of my God: for the meat offering and the drink offering is withholden from the house of your God.

14 Sanctify ye a fast, call a solemn assembly, gather the elders and all the inhabitants of the land into the house of the Lord your God, and cry unto the Lord,

15 Alas for the day! for the day of the Lord is at hand, and as a destruction from the Almighty shall it come.

16 Is not the meat cut off before our eyes, yea, joy and gladness from the house of our God?

17 The seed is rotten under their clods, the garners are laid desolate, the barns are broken down; for the corn is withered.

18 How do the beasts groan! the herds of cattle are perplexed, because they have no pasture; yea, the flocks of sheep are made desolate.

19 O Lord, to thee will I cry: for the fire hath devoured the pastures of the wilderness, and the flame hath burned all the trees of the field.

20 The beasts of the field cry also unto thee: for the rivers of waters are dried up, and the fire hath devoured the pastures of the wilderness.

2 Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the Lord cometh, for it is nigh at hand;

2 A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains: a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it, even to the years of many generations.

3 A fire devoureth before them; and behind them a flame burneth: the land is as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness; yea, and nothing shall escape them.

4 The appearance of them is as the appearance of horses; and as horsemen, so shall they run.

Often when Bible quotes are brought up , bitter folk come along to chastise even the raising of it.
And then , self appointed pious religious Christians come after that saying , ' tsk tsk , that's the " old " testament '

To both of them I'd say just pi$$ off effectively , not interested. One the one hand , it's written here look , and on the other , god in the biblical sense has never been a pu$$y about wicked ba$tards

Palmerworms and cankerworms and catapillars are old school names for the life cycle of locusts

Even today if you could go at Easter , what was the pastor of the flock going to say about that ?

So locust are attracted to crops and no one can workout how catch crush kill them the just make a lot of movement and move them on.

When not put netting high enotuh over the crop that like gill netting catches the locust and rotates round between rolers killing the thing then using the remains for feed and fertilizers.

The locust move on when the food source is exhausted, but if its not they keep going back into the same trap.

This is difficult to translate into modern language because it is written in a very old dialect. I view it as being similar to us in the 2020s reading Chaucer’s Middle English. So my wife really struggled to translate some of it – but in general – this is what it says….

Make what you want of that — I am not sure how I feel — my wife certainly believes it. But the more fundamentally amazing thing is the fact that this has been shared and commented on by thousands of Chinese elite.

Yes, you hit the nail on the head.

God sent the locusts just like he said he would in the Old Testament to wreak havoc on the wicked.. poor, hungry, Africans in an already poverty stricken part of the world that has little to no bearing on anything going on in the world right now.

It's purely natural; these locust swarms originate in the same place, take the same route, and end up destroying the crops in the same region ever so often. It's been studied and documented over and over for hundreds of years. There's no mystery here.

Just because OT writers didn't understand repeating disasters of nature like that and only saw the pain and damage they caused doesn't mean it was divine. If a volcano erupted, a tsunami, a bad flood or a drought; God did it. That's all they knew.

God causing Covid-19 to spread would make alot more sense since it affected the developed parts of the world the worst where there's the most sin. The most damage and cruelty in the world originates from those areas. However, it was probably an accident at a lab in China that caused it.

Well let hope to our Sun God that, the Duck force in China works, so he can giveth our daily bread right?

These locusts won't hit only Africa, they will move all over Which will cause another of gods beings to spray poison in fear using misguided science and this will increase mutation of the microbes.

The earth puts out a frequency that makes these locusts go locust. They can possibly use white noise to cancel the signal and these grasshoppers will settle down. They have investigated this already, how come they are not doing it? Because there is no profit in it possibly?

i was always taught that it was a physical trigger, that when the population density reaches a certain point and all the hoppers are rubbing up against each other too much they basically get stressed and hulk out.

From what I remember about the article, they found that the noise that they start to make triggers release of a chemical which triggered a grigarious stage event. They were able to settle the hoppers down with a certain frequency or white noise. I cannot find that research anymore, I read that about six or seven years ago but I suppose it was not profitable for any companies so they couldn't get more funding to continue their research.

The article is probably out there somewhere at a science site yet, but it is hard to find because it is buried now and I cannot figure out wording that can bring me right to the research.

the only "earth frequency" i can think of is the Schumann Resonance, which has fluctuated around 7-8Hz since time immemorial....

... but over the past few decades (?) it has creeped up to as high as 13Hz and may still be climbing (?)...
