I thought we've gone beyond taking the p*ss in this day and age about the UFO phenomenon

I'm watching this right now its appalling laughing and mocking the subject.

Whether you believe in aliens or whatever there no doubt UFOa exist that exhibit extraordinary abilities.

man im fuming right now I need to relax.

Seen it.
The two 'science bods' were refreshingly open minded but the other two, on of whom was lame comedienne, did nothing other than make juvenile remarks framed as 'comedy'.

I think the inter stellar bogey man has had its day, leaving us with a choice of something unknown to us so far. Or some american DARPA project known to a few. The days of blowing off trained and well balanced people who have seen strange things are surely over.

Come on....millions of light years across galaxies to do what stick a ginger up who knows where or molest some passing cow?

Ive never seen it before still watching as we speak . its stuff like this that really annoys me even the scientists to be fair to them arent saying anything new or we dont already know. The audience is laughing every few secs. What wrong with theses ppl?

Chill Winston, a little colourful language never hurt nobody.

Some people just care to express themselves through the use of profanity.

An offense is seldom given but often taken, its just comedy.

By the way alien probing stuff (alien abduction) and cattle mutilation is a different subject ...why conflate it with UFO's to discredit it.

Anal probing is funny . I guess its ok when we talk about so called 'alien' probing without permission is ok - essentially rape. Now if i chatted about rape in all other respects im sure many wouldnt find it funny.

But hey its alien probing lets have a laff

I think its the weird channel/time its on .. so its difficult to see whether its a science/conspiracy/comedy show.. i find it hard to watch for that also.. whether thats deliberate or not...depends on the foil hat"

If you have Amazon Prime Video, there are a ton of good UFO/Alien Documentaries on there.
Some of them are a bit biased in tone.
But a good chunk that I’ve watched and actually sat through, were pretty decent.
And not just one sided opinions.

time filler i reckon... i reckon noone in there takes it seriosuly but are banking a cheque and filling a couple o hrs,
scientists are showoffs (talk to any o them, theyll gladly talk ur ear off 3/4 hrs about their opinion
comedians, reckon theyll get a radio4/BBC2 chat show out of it...
"hosts" think they can stick it on their cv and get a radio/tv job out of it...
Its obv why they did it, it could have been about literally anything! chemical content in burgers, UFOs, why socks are slippy (i was looking at my socks there)... anyting...

IMC was/is orignally a long running radio 4 series that has explored a wide range of scientific issues using a mixed panel to offset the dry material with humour. It's educating, informing and entertaining, which is the BBC's origial remit.

If you want to know why the UFO phenomenon is mocked and derided by many, I suggest you look at some of the utterly ridiculous collection of stupidity displayed routinely by members of this forum and others.

Humour is the affirmation of shared values. You find things people say funny because those things have occured to you, or because the logical end point of a comedic sequence follows your own thought processes. You not thinking in the same way as other people does not make you right or them wrong. If you don't share their values, get over yourself and find another source for your humour.

Perchance because they have no real knowledge of the subject or the show was designed to discredit UFOlogy or indeed conspiracy theories in general.

The clue is in the fact that its on the BBC and includes brian cox (intentional lower cases there.)
