I'm getting really sick of this Covid-19 ridiculousness.

Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf has directed businesses in the state to provide their employees with masks and has suggested that those who do not wear masks while shopping be denied service

the order, which will begin on Sunday at 8:00 p.m., will also apply to customers and will “require all customers to wear masks while on premises, and deny entry to individuals not wearing masks, unless the business is providing medication, medical supplies, or food.”

Those who cannot wear a face mask due to health conditions ... will be forced to provide medical documentation.

Businesses who fail to comply with the order risk the loss of their business license

As of Wednesday evening, Pennsylvania has ... at least 647 deaths in the state due to coronavirus-related issues. Of those that have died, 324 were in long-term care facilities.

Source

Gov. Wolf of PA (Democrat) has directed that beginning Sunday at 8 p.m., businesses will be forced to require employees and customers to wear masks. Not wearing a mask? Either you don't enter, or you hand over your personal medical documentation explaining why you're not. Businesses not complying? There goes their business license... And all this over a whopping 647 deaths, half of which were elderly people in long-term care facilities. That is assuming, of course, that none of those numbers weren't people who died of any other random thing and had Covid-19 tacked on as cause of death, as we now know has been taking place. All this for a minor virus that hasn't even touched flu numbers, with symptoms so mild many people don't even know they have it.
I see here that this isn't supposed to apply to businesses providing food or medical supplies - so are grocery stores exempt from this? What else is even open?

End this bull**** now!

It's one thing for the government to say "wears mask, it might help", and another to force it.

No one can get N95 masks right now, and even those aren't proven to protect against Corona, unless used properly with procedures similar to medical professionals.

But simple dust masks are just a placebo. Air follows the path of least resistance, so the openings are going to be where a majority of airflow is. Even if you some how fashioned a seal, these masks aren't rated for micro particulates.

All of this is getting dumb af.

Yes, you should be allowed to spread the potentially fatal virus to anyone, whether they want it or not.

It’s a mask. Get over it. The quicker people start taking these measures, the quicker people can go back to work. The longer people focus on avoiding precautions and spreading the infection, the longer everything is shut down.

Fighting every step the government is putting in place, even if it’s for the benefit of the economy, just because it’s the government is futile and will waste more time in the long run and the potential is there to end someone’s life as a result.

He must be angry that Whitmer is getting more attention than he is.

People should buy some G strings and sew them together to go out and make fun of this clown.

He has a few lawsuits pending against him for violating our state constitution. Wonder why he didn't get fined for keeping his business open when businesses of the same type were shut down?

FYI:

N95's are respirators.

Not what they mean when they tell people to wear 'masks'.

Masks help prevent you (the wearer) from spreading.

Respirators help prevent you (the wearer) from being exposed.

They are different tools with very different purposes. They don't want Average Joe wearing respirators. They want asymptomatic and low symptom Average Joes to help in preventing the spread.

This sounds like a reasonable thing to do, better than shutting down the economy and making many people happy they are getting paid to stay at home. Nobody back thirty years ago would ever have comprehended that they would be able to get paid to not work and stay home where your food, and legal Marijuana could be delivered to you at home.

I can imagine how this would have gone over in the early seventies when I lived with some friends in a rented house, there were nine people living there and we were buzzed half the time, this would have been a dream come true back then. Even the rent would be deferred while we were partying hardy. Now, in the summer, this lockdown would have been a bummer, we would have revolted.

Says hypocrite Wolf while not wearing a mask.

Just because of Wolf I am going to go shopping without a mask.

Next time you get a cold or a runny nose, I'll be expecting you to wear a medical-grade mask any time you leave your house... You know, so you don't spread a potentially fatal virus.

Life could have been completely normal from the beginning if people weren't a bunch of idiots and sheep. Sweden shut nothing down and they've only had a little over 1,000 deaths from this virus, out of a population of over 10 million.

For the benefit of the economy? Threatening to close businesses that don't ban customers is for the benefit of the economy? How much more of an idiotic thing could you possible say?

That sounds like an affront to the americans with disabilities act; Forcing the disabled to prove they are disabled.

Scare a people for long enough I guess.

Got to love Democrats; all about protecting the disenfranchised until it becomes to inconvenient for them.

N95 is a rating, 95% of particulates can't permeate through the barrier.

All my other points I still stand by as well.

If you don't know the purpose, usage, or requirements of the gear, how can you even begin to make a point?

How does an N95 respirator protect those around you, from you?

Explain it technically for us.

My point was even if you could get n95 masks, not respirators... There is still no evidence it protects people if they don't wear it according to proper medical procedures.

What you see out and about now are flimsy dust masks with openings around the side. Air travels in the path of least resistance. So out the sides it goes.

Edit: you were right they're still deemed respirators even if they are the strap on looking masks. Semantics aside, my point still stands on flimsy masks with openings.

I’ve never had the flu in my life. I’ve been sick 3x and it was from food poisoning. I did have several infections when I was 11-12 due to my tonsils, but once they were removed I was good to go. After I moved to Florida my allergies stopped bothering me. I’m sure I’ve been asymptomatic plenty of times, but have no real way of knowing that. Hmm...maybe I can find a way to use that to work from home for the rest of my life. I’d LOVE it.

Good for Sweden, however, that’s clearly not the case in the US, so seems like a moot point to me.

If those businesses can re-open by following an extremely simple guideline, I’d say it’s for the benefit of the economy and certainly for the business owner. If it’s going to in any way slow down the spread of the virus, it’s going to benefit everyone as the government will back off on keeping things closed. Seems pretty simple to understand.

This is what he considers doable..

If the above is all that's required, then he needs to let businesses back open.

Open the state stores Tom...

Nope, I don’t consume animal products so it’s no bother at all. Statistically, I’m in the higher majority of people that would survive an infection. I’m extremely healthy with no pre-existing conditions I know of. But I’d strongly prefer to minimize the spread as much as I can. If doing something as simple as wearing an extremely lightweight mask over my face could potentially help that, I have no problem doing so. Maybe it’s because I’m used to wearing masks for work, often on a scorching Florida roof, but you’re talking about something that weighs what, 4 ounces?

Nearly every aspect of our lives is ruled by the government hand, just seems silly to me to take issue with something as small as a mask when it could potentially aid in the re-opening of the economy.
