One thing I've noticed that contradicts silly's opinion earlier is that nobody is saying buy food.

It's all pay off debt, bills, projects..

Interesting.

I've been looking at work camping as one option. I'm also going to join the craft fair circuits; I'm making prototypes for pebble mosaics I want to offer as patios, floors, and wall treatments (plus other artistic wall treatment options) Honestly getting on the road should open avenues to revenue I am unable to claim at the current time.

[avenues of revenue ha]

If all else fails there's always amazon or the beet harvest- neither of which I am amenable to as a first resort.

By and large the population of ATS seems more intelligent than the average Joe, with more job prospectsm hence more likely to be working from home or self employed currently? maybe?

Ummm...sorry to hear about your travails...

Motor homes are cool...in the early 90’s my girlfriend and I...two Pharaoh hounds and a cat...(fuzz head)...

Lived in a 22ft 1971 MelMar class c motor home...

We lived...moved around...and worked out of our little camper for 2 1/2 years...

I’m in the process now of doing some much needed work on our 33 ft Southwind...I’m also Looking at an old trailways bus with a stainless steel frame and underneath and thick aluminum walls...to do a conversion into a motor home...

Getting it ready in case I have to go that route again...should the Zombie apocalypse mutate into something nasty...

Which is the basis for our entire economy.

EDIT: I doubt we get one, TBH.

Nada in our account yet, but I figure if ours went out with the Friday batch, it'll show up overnight tonight/Wednesday morning. People tend to forget most banks hold deposits for 2 or 3 days before they reflect in the bank as either pending or cleared.

As for what we'll be doing with it, paying even more ahead on the rent (because a bigger rent buffer in case of emergencies never hurts) After that, set aside for the car insurance renewal this summer & pay that off in full.

Probably will need to buy a new mower, hubby ran over a rock well-concealed in the grass last fall during the final mow and utterly borked the deck. Blade's pretty bent, too. The motor itself is still fine, so replacing the deck and blade is still an option, but odds are we'll just get a new mower and sell the motor.

The fish tank will get new plants & fish, and perhaps a CO2 injection system. Since the aquarium shop is a small indie business, we absolutely don't mind handing them wads of money right now if we can.

The rest will likely go to savings until it's needed. Or will go towards getting the A/C in the car replaced (not fixable) It'd be nice to have it working for summer, the car can get damn hot in July & August.

The IRS is turning on a tool at irs.gov tomorrow which will allow people to see the status of their stimulus payments.

i reckon that Wednesday 15 April will be the pay-date to my credit union account...

i already have spent $62 of that 'relief/ Stimulus' on a top 5 model of a food dehydrator...and the free delivery happened at noon-ish today (wiped down the shipping box with my blue gloves on & used bleach solution to disinfect)

even IF the $1200. never shows up---I will have a dehydrator to preserve garden stuff, make jerkey, dry fruits (that are too costly buying in mylar bags from those emergency food product providers in Prepper media) and other stuff to process & store in vacuum-sealed

mason jar storage is wayyy to intensive for this household of retirement income/fixed income,

I've not received a dime yet, but I've saved a bunch on fuel so I figure I'm still ahead of the game.
If I receive a stimulus payment, I will use it to purchase something... anything...

I have heard they expect it to be the 17th.

With the first stimulus checks, also known as economic impact payments, intended to jumpstart the US economy having been sent out to taxpayers over the weekend, the IRS will be launching a tool this week called "Get My Payment," which is expected to be available by Friday, April 17, according to a report by CNBC.

IRS to roll out an official tool for tracking stimulus checks

Got mine yesterday. I put it straight into the savings account. I'm still working , but only 32 hours a week. We live well below our means, so I am able to save for the first time in my life. And only a few more years till retirement .

Building a greenhouse. It's been on my wishlist for years, and I finally located the supplies I wanted.

I bought a walk in cooler from a lady who doesn't need it anymore. With our frigid climate, the insulated panels should cut down the heating bills over the winters.

Buying the rest of the reloading supplies i need.

Buying a new set of deep cycle batteries for my class a motor home.

And buying a new pinpointer for metal detecting gold.

The $800 left will go into the bank for a rainy day.

Got it today. In another thread about the same thing, I posted that I would rather get my money back than for it to be sent out in foreign aid.
