Locally, regionally, nationally and especially globally I see folks across the net and within earshot diminishing others rights so they can have a piece of mental normalcy and perceived security.

Your rights end where mine begin. Vice versa is also true. Agree?

I'm just so sick and tired of hearing that the government should enlist even more draconian measures to quell the threat of covid from normal citizens.

I'm tired of being told that I want thousands to die because I refuse to stay home.

I'm tired of being told , just a few more weeks. Ffs there is NO EXIT STRATEGY or end date for this emergency....

Read and apply some logic to my last statement....

War on covid.
War on terror.
War on drugs.

They never end. The power is never given back.

This fall, when it comes back, the precedent will have already been set.

Might as well cancel Thanksgiving and Christmas plans now.

Save time.

Yes! It's a fu**ing pandemic. Why can't these people read a book and learn the overwhelming truth that...no matter what your government does, people are going to pass away during a pandemic. Anyone could. People here think that if we "lock it down" for a week, there will be no new cases next week.

🤦‍♀️

Why doesn't anyone Read. Books.

What's to stop local governments from making you wear a mask during flu season? REAL living involves some risk. I'm betting people are getting tired of being treated like children. It's time to let the virus take it's course and get on with it. Are we really going to do this every time one of these viruses comes around and is that even sustainable? I don't think so. And WOW, all those people who bought guns because they thought Obama was going to take away their freedoms. Well, here ya go. What are you going to do about this? Nothing. Because, you see, the government doesn't want your guns, at least not right now. They want your freedom to assemble, and travel, and protest. They want you to learn not to disregard their orders. Not to speak out. And America is learning the lesson. And the America I love will cease to exist. The American experiment will be over. I, for one, have not put on a mask, but if I do, I want it to be MY choice. Not someone else's. This really is getting out of control, and a bit ridiculous.

Clickbait headlines are all I need to be woke!

Disagree? Then you're an idiot and should probably die.

The Patriot Act, Japanese-American internment camps, H.R. 5717 it's all proof that we have no rights and only privileges.

In the eyes of the powerful, we squandered all our freedoms.

Ruining the planet, apathy and obesity in first world nations.

It's an environment ripe for anyone with a god complex who wants order and peace in the world.

We are the eggs that must be broken for the New World Omelette.

Every time I watch my 87 y/o mother have to explain to a TSA agent that she is 87 and it is a struggle to have to take off her shoes, before they acquiesce, and watch her wobbling in the x-ray device my skin crawls, I clench my fists, and bite my tongue.

I despise flying for all these reasons and more, that is why for years I didn't. I took the extra time and I drove. I still drive unless time is off the essence, then I suffer through the process the best I can, and I cry internally for our country.

We were gullible and hoodwinked with 911. We learned "nothing"!

We will never get any of our rights back. Our country will never be the same, and I pray with pain on arthritic knees, that I am wrong. I pray the day will come that all of you will throw this post in my face, call me a failed CT, and laugh me off the forum.

If I am not wrong, then I pray for us all and what our country used to be, because my country and I will be nothing but a memory.

So, who here thinks they are going keep us social distancing long term? How long do you think they can before their world and all they hold precious.... ummm..money.. blows up in their faces.
They are buying time...
Time to get more supplies into place, come up with more ventilators, come up with a exit plan!!
Either that or they are just winging it, doing whatever, because they have to be seen as doing something, and they really have no clue as to what they should be doing.
Take your pick. But, lay off the but, it's my rights bit?? We didnt have the right not to be radiated at the airports. What's not being able to go to church of a bar compared to that?

No, it's not that black and white. There is considerable overlap of 'right's.

Also it has to do with responsibility - to self, others and society as a whole.

There are also periods of time, that require different rules. Say WWII (Japanese internment) or now (coronavirus). Both, at their times considered necessary for 'public safety' but invasive, draconian as you say, and hopefully, temporary.

Remenber this isn't about you, it is about us - all of us.

I'm sick of fear porn every damn day centered around only one thing. I haven't left my house in a month while my government is still flying people back into my country from hot zones and ordering all of us to stay at home to stop the spread.

"Disagree? Then you're an idiot and should probably die."
There's a bigger pandemic of sentiments like that lately and I'm even sicker of that.

Forgive me for not having hope. History is pretty clear on that.

It is crystal clear that your rights end where mine begin.

I dont need your approval or agreement. They dont come from you or any government.

According to the so-called "experts" they are now saying what most knew all along- that if everyone just wears masks and either properly wears gloves or washes their hands we could go about our daily business because while the masks don't protect you from getting the virus it DOES protect others from you spreading it to them. I take that to mean if EVERYONE wears a mask we could nip this virus in the bud and go back to normal.

So why aren't we doing that instead of all the crazy lock down stuff?
Only the Shadow knows...

I grew up looking at the pictures and learning facts and figures. Amazing how much useless information has come in handy over the years.

I surprise myself at how much actually sunk in.

I've read some fiction too, but give me reality any day.

That said, I have some great ideas for some short stories.

Check out this guy in Philly being manhandled off of a train for not wearing a mask.

The fear mongering media has been quite successful in ushering in tyranny and many in government seem hell bent on extending it!

If we'd only used common sense, not panic, then our economy would be working, people would be working and life would be moving forward.

But government cannot capitalize on that if we didn't panic and soil ourselves so much that we needed to stockpile toilet paper!

The toilet paper has been explained. Theres a difference between the toilet paper sold to households and those sold to businesses. So much so that different manufacturers cater to the two markets.
We have more people at home, less in businesses. Its created a surplus when it comes to toilet paper used by businesses and a shortage of household toilet paper.

Spare me.

People lost their collective sh#t.

For weeks I tried to tell people here and in life to calm the #### down.

But it's easier for the collective to watch the media, listen to idiot politicians, and lose their ever-loving minds.
