In which group or society would a member:
1: tattoo a large completely black cross on his back (over the entire back),
2: Call himself a 'protector of Christianity'
3: say it isn't a choice, the duty is inherited from father to son
4: sworn secrecy
5: lives a perfectly normal life, low profile middleclass

edit for a bit more information

I've known this person for years but only recently learned about all of the above.
It wasn't his intention to tell me but when he got completely wasted at a party he started telling. Once I started asking to much questions (even pulled the Illuminati into the conversation) he suddenly got up, announced that he shouldn't have told me and left. He hid himself for me for 3 months and then when I ran into him again acted as if nothing happened. I didn't ask about it.
I'm just curious about this person I thought I knew

He has the tattoo for over 45 years and so did his father and grandfather. Not sure about his own sons

I'd guess Jesuits or Knights Templar or Knights of Columbus. What does the cross look like? There are a lot of crosses. And it doesn't sound very secret.

like I said, from father to son for several generations. Not sure if it has anything to do with anything but they all occupied the same piece of land. when the elder that lives there dies, the son will move in.

All I know is that this person received the tattoo as a young adult over 45 years ago. I don't know about an order, that"s why I asked

Are you saying that no matter where the son is living at the time of death he will move back to this old house on this piece of land that has been owned by the family for generations on end? That is bizarre. Maybe he's a vampire?

It's a small piece of land in a rural area, it has a small house on it that he build himself years ago. His father used to live on the exact same land in a trailer. His grand fater before that lived in a wooden cabin but that was broken down. Eventually one of his sons will move in the house.

Lol, I doubt vampires

Could be anything, including family tradition and such silliness. Why does this need to be an organised group?

How do you know him? If you only see him after 3 months then he must not be in your social circle. Next time you see him ask if he knows about the 40 weeks or the 280 day calendar.

I had the same stance, but according to no. 2, 3 and 4 from OP, it sounds more than just "silly traditions". Without actually dismissing probabilities to be only a tradition passed down by some lunatics ancestors, we have to consider the historic background of Europe in regards to religions.

After all, the Church has chased multiple orthodox/pagan religious members for years, hence it is not uncommon to come across survivors of these cults, which members generally sworn secrecy due to their "fugitives" history.

It does not need to be anything,
just asking if someone recognized any of it

Probably a wannabe or a tiny unimportant family ''order''. If it was a secret Christian organisation, I'd know. Trust me.

Everything you wrote here is really interesting. But why in this time period would the guy still feel like he had to keep something secret.

Could he be one of the Black Satans?

No, but seriously, now why would even get into this discussion with KindraLaBelle? Maybe he just wanted to impress her? Just winding her up?

Did it look like a 45 year old tattoo?

Did anybody else see the tattoo when he showed it to you?

He might be drawing you into something really bad.
