seems I am explaining this an awful lot lately,

A left-leaning MOD at ATS scolded us on using the terms, leftist, liberals, enviroterrorists, sadists, etc etc etc

He did say as long as we use a word that is not considered derogatory in any way and do not refer to a ATS member specifically we could use any word we wish as long as it is acceptable and not cursing,

so I lumped all of the above into a word he created, the infamous Turdblossom.........and let me tell you they are in full bloom here at ATS!

The world reacts to Rumsfeld

Rumsfeld's messaging does not appeal to a saner world.

It is intended only for the hard core of infantile "super patriots" and people who are thoroughly indoctrinated into a neo-con model (emphasis on the "con") of the US's place as a global policemen (and pillager and looter of foreign sovereign states and US taxpayers ).

you should change your title...

You're posting false information...

....the title is wrong.... Seeing that its disrespectful to the government who respects its people, and are for the people and of the people. Doesnt this government respect us? We should be an equal opportunity respecter.

'on crack' is a term to express a person's craziness...

have you not heard this before? You must be on crack!

Disrespect? Don't get started on that one.... The U.S. government is one of the most disrespectful organizations in the world.

A related issue is that the Commander-In-Chief is incurably drug-addled himself, so this kind of thing becomes a sensitive point for defenders of misdirected policies promulgated by his administration.

It is disrespectful of politicians to promote self-serving lies, and yet the prevailing view is that "they all do" and therefore it will always be that way and it is satisfactory to live in democratic nation states that operate this way.

Some politicians' lies are accompanied by a cost of hundreds of thousands of lives and the need for several generations of repair of the US economy. That is the kind that you hear every day these days from the Whitehouse.

Wouldn't be the first time. We (the US) were brought to the brink of nuclear war by an incurably drug-addled JFK. The Bay of Pigs was no feather in our (US) cap, either.

EDIT: typo

Your double-standards on 'terrorism' are astounding. For years the US supported the IRA (PIRA). Over 3,000 people are dead as a direct result of that support. Children, women and men are maimed for life. You did nothing to stop NORAID and other blood-thirsty apologists for thuggery.

As soon as it suits certain interest groups in the US terrorism becomes a bad thing and its prevention becomes the justification for unspeakable evil, widespread murder and invasion/occupation of any country you see fit.

We (Europeans) used to love and respect America. You gave the world a lot. OK we had to put up with the bullsh*t and unfair trade practices but we gained overall. Even Vietnam didn't end the love affair. But the last 4 years (and god-knows what the next 4 will bring) have really opened our eyes - you're now despised as a bully nation even among your former friends.

I feel really sorry for those of you who want no part in this global crusade. You're being all tarred with the same brush and I appreciate it must hurt to see all the goodwill flushed away for the profits and interests of a small neo-con (dare I say Zionist) elite who'd sacrifice any of their citizens with no more compunction than they show when killing Iraqis.

RIP America

Well the old saying goes, "With friends like that, who the hell needs enemies?"

Bully? Were we a bully when the US taxpayer paid your defense costs for 50 years? Were we the bully when American blood was shed is disproportionate means to protect your freedom?

give me a break, Europe and the US are still friends, the only difference now than 20 years ago is that we are now competitors . .......

Not sure you paid for our defence.

NATO nations all contributed a vast amount of GDP to match the Soviet 'threat'. As the biggest partner you contributed the most. Even though it was because you'd rather fight Ivan in Germany than Maine we were greatful.

Once that threat was no longer there (or we could see it never was) we shelved a lot of our military effort - BAOR etc.

The US on the other hand retained all its SIGINT facilities that were previously 'neccessary' and their real purpose became clear - spying on us and the rest of Europe for the US's political and economic benefit. Names of US bases like Menwith Hill and Fylingdales will mean little to you but we know why they're (still) here.

You're quite right about being competitors (2012 the EU's GDP will outstrip the US's) - presumably that's why you created a 'situation' in the Balkans and are now madly invading / setting up bases all around the World. If you can't dominate us as 'partners' you'll do it as occupiers.

At least you're starting to be honest but don't tell me you were 'protecting' us for all those years just 'cos you liked us.

Never was? Ask the residents of Prague that one will you, how about Warsaw?

Man, well this is a conspiracy board, we did need to keep tabs on the Swedes after all.

We created the situation in the Balkans? What? Oh ok now I see it, Yugoslavia broke up at the United States direction so we could make a grab for the Bosnian oil right?

Well I would like to think that is was to protect democracies and Friends against the good old red commie threat.........Of course it was in out interests, we couldn't let Western Europe fall under the communist world also, although now considering the thanks we get, maybe we should have and then you would be more like the Poles and Latvians and grateful for the freedoms instead of whiny tulip-walking crybaby's.
