Area 51 - We all talk about it but whose been there?

Hi Guys,

Just interested in the number of people who have actually been to area 51 that use this forum. I first went in 1996 on my honeymoon, we stayed in Rachel and met up with a film crew from Channel 4 (An English channel) we were escorted first to the black mail box then down the dirt road as far as you can go i.e. where the signs are that say "Use of Deadly Force Authorised" we stayed until approx 10pm when the cammo dudes turned up and started watching us from approx 200 yards away. The film crew turned there 2 million candle watt spotlight on them and they turned their backs immediately due to them wearing ir goggles/headsets. We left soon after this as we could see 2 further sets of headlights coming our way. All we saw were lights in the sky just hovering over in the base direction, could have been anything?? probably just a helicopter!!!.

We got married in Vegas and I just said as we were so close!!! she agreed on the basis that we went anywhere she wanted to during the next 2 weeks. Everyone was happy.....

I think that you are classic to take your ol lady on a honeymoon to rachel. Anyway I dont think if anyone thats been there or worked there would accually talk to anyon on this sit cause if I was the Government Id be watching a site like this. Anyway I think we need to find a new base to snoop at cause area 51 is to over rated anymore to have good activity.

I have been there. Not 'ON' the base mind you, but around it.....hanging out looking at the sky. Picnicing, camping and....'stuff'.

I never saw anything that was untoward though.....nuttin INTERESTING flying in the air. Oh well. I tried.

Did anybody go to Area 51 recently (2004-2005) ? Is there the same activity and monitoring than before ? I heard a rumor which said all the activities have been moved to another location that's why i ask this.

Was there in late 2001. Would have been more interesting if the closer viewing spots were still available. Not going back until I have the right telescope and camera gear for Tikaboo. A piece of good advice: be specific when ordering food from the Inn.

Nice move with the spot light...props to you and the film crew...probably really aggravated those boys.

Didn't someone post here a while back claiming that they had been properly inside the base with the help of a relative who apparently worked there?
I also remember them saying they were hoping to go back.
Any ideas?

Actually I doubt "they" care at all about this site. If "they" are who everyone thinks "they" are, then they wouldn't make mistakes. Certainly not a mistake leading to the leaking of information to any member of the public. If that could even conceivably happen, the holder of the information would be dead before they ever reached a keyboard.

Musclor: a few years ago it was made official that the base was shut down due to "ground radiation seapage from atomic testing"... I guess green goo was oozing up back from the nuke range days. Operations were moved to the installation in western Colorado. Apparently you could literally drive down into the Groomlake facility and walk around the buildings if you so desired.
However the base was reactivated a short while later. Any truth in all this? Who knows. One fact is a lot less goes on at the base than what most think...

How do you know that Codycougar91?? so the real secret base is Dulce and not Area 51?
