Dunno about you. But the US government had a lot of time to think about all of this and take action and didn't. It's not 3M or any other business' responsibility to call the shots. Capitalism is failing america, go figure.

9 line apparel on their switch to making masks, they hint at someone running up the cost of the material for making masks, which sounds a lot like price gouging during a natural disaster, hope the DOJ looks into it.

You cannot claim you are a capitalist and get upset over this behavior. Or you can, but you just look like a fool.

I have been at odds with 3M and their overcharging of the government for many years, they lobbied to get standards that they patented enacted and overcharged everyone for years. There are many other companies that have similar products for half the price in the stores. This is not about capitalism, America helped this company grow a lot, if it was a different company that was doing this that did not do that kind of stuff, I would say nothing, but I was always aware that this company was given favoritism.

I am taken aback by how this ability to fund the NHS has just happened overnight, shows that the rainy day fund must have been overflowing, more so since politicians cant fund their second homes/birdbath/pensions funds anymore

You are right, capitalism is failing America. Thirty years ago the big corporations would bend over backwards to help the American people in a time like this. Monopolies were crushed to keep the big corporations from getting too powerful. I never would have expected 3M to be like this. They used to be All for America and got rewarded for being that way. Time to take away their ability to do business in America, and other countries need to be aware that this company will not support their countries either.

That is my gripe. If a company was a Canadian company and doing this to them, I would be all up in arms against that company even though I am not a Canadian. I would support the Canadian people and never buy that companies product. But I am old school, I believed a countries businesses should be loyal to them. What if we were at war with Russia, would this company be selling supplies to Russia?

Behind the scenes the appropriate agencies have been updating policies and procedures and working on topping off the national stockpile as it relates to medical equipment and supplies.
