So Jared Kushner is now point man for the Administration's COVID response apparently. And he made some comments that you may find interesting. He is saying the the U.S. Stockpile is 'not for State's use'.

White House senior advisor Jared Kushner made a rare appearance during Thursday's coronavirus task force briefing, an appearance that drew backlash when he referred to the national stockpile of medical supplies as "our stockpile" and not one belonging to states.

So who exactly constitutes the 'our' ? This numbnut isn't qualified to run a paper route let alone an unprecedented pandemic. He has zero qualifications. This is the problem when you have a President that cares more about surrounding himself with sycophants and family instead of the experts we need. Seems like the Administration sees the Federal Stockpile as their personal slush fund to be used to bribe red states and punish blue states.

In order for a state to get approval for more equipment from the federal government, the official must show the federal government data to what is in their own stockpile and prove there is a need for more equipment, Mr Kushner said.

Anyone with a "lick of sense" would know what that meant.
Anyone.
Which speaks novels on the state of media .

If the Feds gave every state what they want, the stockpile would be gone when a thousand citizens sneeze in a state. It belongs to all of the people of this country. You cannot give everything to one state. I think the states reduced their stockpiles over the years, Hospitals got downsized so they did not have room anymore to stock things, because our system of getting supplies got fast, they got used to ordering things as they needed them.

Along comes this pandemic, businesses cannot stock that much goods, the regulations governing health care stuff changes often, they cannot afford to stockpile things they will have to toss in the garbage in a couple of years if the government changes specs. I do not blame them.

With Masks and ventilators, the government should give the companies making the ventilators a good tax credit to stock and rotate these machines. Trouble is, like what happened in California, they got ventilators that needed fixing right away. When this stuff sits in a warehouse, things get stiff, oils dry out, things do not start. Go buy old brand new stuff from a rummage sale and it often needs work. I have bought stuff that was new and old, I had to fix it even though it was never used.

If we have piles of these ventilators, they need to be maintained even if new or they won't work when needed. After this pandemic, there will be ventilators everywhere, then the government will change the requirements for them and forty five thousand dollar ventilators will be sold at auction for fifty bucks. It happens all the time in this country, I will be bidding on one if that happens. Never know when you will need something like that.

So he said the States that have their own stockpile should dip into their own stockpile first before asking the federal government for help.

What exactly is the problem with that?

Say State A is running low on supplies, but State A has their own stockpile, and instead of using that, State A asks the federal government for help. Federal sends State A a bunch of supplies from the national stockpile, depleting it.

Later, State B, who has no stockpile, is running low on supplies and needs help, but the federal government already sent their supplies to State A that didn't really need it. What is State B supposed to do? Now maybe they can go ask State A for supplies. What the hell sense does that make?

He has a whole crew of advisors so it's not just him making decisions like a French king. He's just the man on point. It would be like saying Ellen DeGeneres's game show, all the games are designed by her and all her jokes she makes up herself. She has a staff the size of an Army company. I doubt she even has much control of anything on her shows and neither does Jared. Rosanne found that out pretty quick.

Exactly. This is nothing but partisan nonsense.

The National Strategic Stockpile website literally says that it's there for the states!

But, when Jared says it's "ours", what he really means is that is "ours" to play political quid pro quo games with....like "that woman" in Michigan!

Kushner isn't the problem.

People that have trouble understanding Kushner are the problem because of the blind red rage. šŸŽ± šŸ‘ļø šŸ˜· šŸ‘ļø šŸŽ±

Yeah, you made that up out of thin air. That's not what he said, and that's not what he meant. What he meant is exactly what he said. They should use their own stockpile first before asking to deplete the national stockpile, because then when locales that really do need help ask for it the national stockpile will be gone.

Take off your partisan glasses for this one issue, can't ya?

And ignore that Obama was constantly putting people in charge of things with zero background in that particular field. My favorite was the person he put in charge of rolling out the ACA online. Total train wreck.

They had no background in IT. A low level IT developer could have seen immediately the thing was not scaled up enough to roll out. It crashed and burned for weeks and barely even a whimper by the media. I work IT and if I did that with any program I would have been fired immediately.

His biggest screw up by far though was putting Hillary in charge of the SD. He told her no funny business with the Foundation and look what happened. The SD became the Foundation. Want something from the SD then make a donation and she would take care of it. Again, not even a mild sigh from the media.

Nope. Florida got everything they asked for, and more. In the meantime, Trumpy and his sycophants are playing hide and seek games with Democrat governors.

Yeah he did a great job hiding the only two hospital ships in blue states.

A king has no political competition or opposition in his realm. If he does he kills it or tries like hell do do so. That's not going on with Trump, Jared or anyone else at the WH. Just look at the pressers. The media is on them like attack dogs along with all Democrats. Try doing that with a king or dictator and it will not end well for anybody going against the grain.

What a crock. States ARE using their own stockpiles. But they are working against projections of what they will need in the coming days. The thing about ventilators is you need them on-hand BEFORE you actually need them. The states know their burn-rates and what they have on-hand and what they are likely to need based upon the trajectory of new cases. That's something Trump and company just ignored for the last 3mos.

This isn't about 'red rage'. This is about the lot of you making excuses for your King no matter what f'd-up thing he does. Since that turd floated into DC you people have excused every single thing he's done. You tie yourselves up in knots making excuses for him. You all ACTUALLY believe he is perfect in every way. That he has never made an error in judgement. Never done anything wrong. So he's clearly NOT human then.

You can blame it all on the dembs, msm, or Obama all you want but there are plenty of conservative patriots that now see the trump agenda of usurping the Bill of rights and the constitution with the overreaction to covid-19.

People said the same thing with Katrina. National Guard became the police, implemented curfews and arrested people. It was either that or total chaos. Those crying about the Bill of Rights right now have no idea what total chaos actually means. Without some drastic measures it takes about 5 days for society to start breaking apart. I saw it after Katrina and believe me, I never want to see it again. People turn into paranoid animals swiftly.

Exactly why we need someone in charge of that stock pile who will do it fairly.
When the joker from New York screamed he needed 30,000 ventilators, should he have got them knowing what we know now? No. They didnā€™t need them right then, he was trying to hoard from all the other states because heā€™s New York.
