Is the EU fair to its members?

Why is Germany, Finland and Norway the only countries where the deaths per 1 Million are less than the USA. Nations like Italy, France, Spain, Switzerland Belgium and the Netherlands are at least 4 times higher than the USA. Why is there such a discrepancy between the nations of the EU? Has the EU been fair with helping their member states during this crisis?

absolutely not. The EU is a gang of unelected, tax exempt bureaucrats, and their collective is TOTALLY ASININE. May the world be rid of them ASAP

My inital guess would be. Track travelers and flights ,including stopovers, of Flights from China and where those travelers landed.

Airlines and Airports are filthy Petri dishes when it comes to pandemics.

I would have thought Germany would be a air travel hub, perhaps my theory is wrong.

Just a correction to the OP.

The UK is not a member of the EU.

The Coronavirus pandemic has exposed that the EU cannot manager a piss-up in a brewery.

The Italians are quite vexed by the lack of comradery from their neighbours. This type of selfishness is causing significant reputational damage to the EU and fueling anti-EU sentiment. Noting that EU agreement on freedom of movement (across borders) was the first thing that national governments tore up.
