No they are not.
It's a dense population center and a travel hub.
They are not the ones who sat on this.
We all know who's to blame.

New York and New Jersey — two extremely Democratic states — account for just over half of all known covid19 cases in the nation, and 48 percent of all covid19 deaths. I find that interesting considering their combined population is only 8.6 percent of our total population.

And what is your conclusion?
That two states run almost entirely by Democrats were grossly unprepared for this epidemic and continue to do a piss poor job of dealing with it. Yet who gets excoriated by the press, which eagerly tries to nail him on gotcha questions at his frequent press conferences? Why Trump, of course. Cuomo and de Blasio were vehemently critical of Trump prior to the catastrophes occurring in their bailiwicks. Now we see who the true incompetents are.

Why is that interesting to you? Have you made it to the third grade? Either shill or non thinking person. Why?
That ratio of infection/death to percentage of national population doesn’t strike you as significant? And you accuse me of being uneducated? We’d have more than five times as many infections and deaths if the rest of the nation were like New York and New Jersey.

Not seeing the reason for mentioning democrats other than to stir up crap.
Do you?
I mention it because dems and the utterly biased news media have been so viciously critical of Trump. Seems fair to me that famously anti-Trump pols like Cuomo and de Blasio should get just a tiny bit of the same treatment.

Thank God, and I mean thank God the "rest" isn't like NY. Are you aware of how many people are in Manhattan on any give day and actually how big manhattan is? I'll give you a hint. It takes about 4-5 hours in total to walk from the financial district to the top of the island. Guess how wide it is? Now take Enid OK. How many 65 story apartments lined up for miles are there? This is so simple again I can only think this is a bot programmed to keep people occupied and discuss things a third grader could understand.

This has nothing to do with Democrats. Stop making it political. It has to do with people being elbow to elbow, ass cheek to ass cheek on the streets all day. Lots of meetings, packed churches, international travel, etc...

Frankly I think it's all a ploy by New York and New Jersey Democrats to infect the entire population of the United States so that innocent Conservatives can push for Trump and Congress to get their big government socialist package passed while simultaneously taking away our rights.

Face it, you got outplayed by the people you hate, enjoy your Trumpy Bucks.

NY and other places fall into the same problem. We can blame the Goverment at first but I think everywhere they were slow to react. A big part was China's fault for not letting the world know a month plus sooner this crap was bad and the fact we saw the first SARS only infect 8000 with 700 deaths didn't help, very high lethality but low transmission, so not something pandemic like. Trump was actually I think the first to react with shutting down flights from China and he was roasted for it and even at that point China was still not providing good data. So outside of Monday morning quarterbacking not much to blame here with the Goverment.

Then we have the people who didn't take it seriously and that has been the bigger issue in the cities that are now the hot zones for it. Gatherings didn't stop when told to stop unlit death rates started to climb and that was too late. I think Mexico city will be bad once it gets there. The people in Mexico are not doing anything at all right now and will most likely not stop until they look like Wuhan.

The key here is no matter how poor anyone has been in the past it only takes a few weeks to correct all that wrongness.

What I’m saying is NYC is abysmally run, and if the rest of the nation were saddled with such poor leadership, we’d be in much worse shape. Are you hinting that nothing can be done about the pandemic in NYC because it’s so densely populated? If so, then don’t blame Trump for its current problems. Perhaps the national trend toward urban density needs to be reconsidered despite it being all the rage among millennials and Gen Z. And maybe ease up on the ad hominem attacks.

Depends on type of education. Did you know that most neurosurgeons are Republican and most psychiatrists are Democrat?
Did you know that most business owners are Republican and most union organizers are Democrat? Most surgeons are Republican and most midwifes are Democrat. Fun Facts

I don't disagree with you New York is abysmally run. Most major metropolitan centers are in the US. The point is NYC isn't some one off horribly run town - it is what it is, the best us humans can do. Many places here are the same. But they are all stacked on each other - you have to take public transport to get around - your are literally next to millions.

That is not that hard to see is it?

So if Republicans were the governors of New York and New Jersey and the mayor of NYC, you don’t think that would be harped upon by the left? I don’t know how many times I’ve seen leftists put down red states, reviling them and their people as backward and stupid. Seems you guys can dish it out, but you can’t take it. Just admit it: Dems have totally bungled this crisis in New York and New Jersey.
