Points to heed:

Hospitals...when combined with all people in them...are at capacity WHEN COMBINED. WE CANT HANDLE BOTH. Thats the "at capacity" issue. Of course it's not all virus patients!

But Im a Cardiac patient...if I had to go to ER for heart, stroke etc...I can...and will be... triaged OUT.

Hoarding: It's not now, but what's to come when everyone goes shopping at the SAME time....

When you get out for gas, store, walk...just pick up anything, every-time...it's a little that can add up.

You cannot imagine what is expected to come worldwide...at nearly the same time...

At least? Prepare yourself and family. It's better than not. God Bless and keep us all well.

My Qualifications to expound:

1st Responder/-EMT/
ADLS-Advanced Disaster Life Support
FEMA/DHS Dept. of H. Security/C.E.R.T.

Gas is dirt cheap. I doubt we run out of gas. It's piling up right now. Nowhere to put it. As for food, water I don't see anybody starving or dying of thirst. If anything they are getting fatter eating take out and fast food. Probably would do the US a lot of good if food was running out for a brief period. A lot of fatty pants out there that need to go on a strict diet.

What did the OP add to the topic of Covid-19?

(Hoarding: It's not now, but what's to come when everyone goes shopping at the SAME time....)

Yeah, like when the stores emptied out a few weeks back? That already happened.

(You cannot imagine what is expected to come worldwide...at nearly the same time...)

What the hell are they talking about? This is a site that talks about aliens and Bigfoot but we lack imagination?

He may very well be a first responder but a clairvoyant he is not. So something bad is going to happen? Haven't heard that before on ATS. We can't imagine how bad it's going to be? Yeah, that's a dead horse around here. Go out and stock up on supplies when you can? Wow, that's good advice but a couple months too late to be worth a damn.

More fear-mongering for the doom porn addicts but please star and flag that # because the information was so useful.

Thank you, 1st Responder, for putting yourself in harm's way to help people get the care they need. Please know that your job is very much appreciated, and the fact that put yourself out there every day for the well-being of others, is not lost on us. You stay safe, ya hear?

Your fears are our fears.
I get your emotion, even if you're not who you say you are.
I'm somewhat on the inside, the fringes perhaps..enough to hear the tidbits, note what's not being said and done, to be aware when things are suddenly not normal in the Fed ecosystem. When it's "too quiet", and the short hairs are edging upright. When what's not being said is more jarring than what is being said.
You're not alone.

Okay... the OP is full of crap. I believe you oh Wise One. But I need more. Yeah, I'm an idiot that can't figure it out myself. I need you to enlighten me. So skool me. Why? How? What exactly is so contemptible in the OP that you feel it necessary and proper to discredit and disparage the OP. Spell it out for me. Draw me a picture.

Because, silly me, I see one person giving practical advice from a position of wisdom borne of experience... and another person just talking trash with no practical purpose or effect. You certainly haven't corrected anything the OP said, you haven't offered any better information, nor have you offered any better advice. All you have done is create problems in an OP intended to help solve problems.

What am I missing?

And if you can't explain it, then perhaps YOU need to re-think not only your position, but your priorities. And then apologize to the OP.

The fact remains that this isn't the first "from a first responder" post here. I'm not judging one vs the other because I didn't read the other one but it sure garnered alot of flags and stars. I believe that was the purpose of this thread and it bothers me.

For one, it's labeled as "Advice from a first responder". Okay..well coming from a first responder I clicked on the thread expecting some well thought out advice from someone in the know. Everyone can benefit from information coming from the front lines. That's not what we got here.

So the OP got stars and flags and got "Stock up on supplies whenever you can and take care of your loved ones". Yeah..that's advice that any child over the age of 8 years old knew BEFORE they closed their schools. The rest was pure jibberish mixed with fear-mongering rhetoric. I felt the need to point it out. If that makes me an asshole then I guess I'm just an asshole.

Advice from someone that isn't a first responder:

Wash those hands.
Keep a good distance from others.
Stay home if you can.
Don't take advice from strangers on the net.

Thank you -- much appreciated!

I've enjoyed and appreciated other conversations we've had, and the experience and knowledge you've shared. And we need it now more than ever.

Thank you for doing what you do and making the world a little better place.

...well as a first responder I clicked on the thread...

So you are a first responder as well? Or did you misspeak?

If you are a true first responder (as opposed to the OP being a fake first responder), then you should have no problem providing better information than the OP... where is it? Show us all how it's done.

Don't be shy now. You had plenty of crap to spew that served no practical or useful purpose whatsoever. You did not save any of us from bad information. You haven't give us better information.

Put up or shut up.

I misspoke. I corrected the mistake. Thank you for pointing it out.

Thank you for clarifying. Much appreciated.

Now, if you cannot correct or improve on the OP, it would also be much appreciated if you restrained yourself from punishing a good deed. We have enough very real concerns to deal with.
