We're building the post-scarcity society here man. Plus a rapture and a zombie apocalypse too. It's a busy time. (You gotta spend fake money to make fake money!)

There's going to be over time as far as the eye can see. Sea to shining sea. For at least a generation, maybe less.

I agree with you. But there's bad blood between Trump and GM. I can understand why they are hesitant. Ford has already stepped up to the plate, why do you need more then one auto maker?

Why not? Multiples can get even more done quicker than one.

Well, I mean it doesnt actually exists, the money. Unbacked currency and this is its pinnacle weakness.

One would almost think our freedoms are being bought. I really don't know what to think about this whole deal yet. I am hoping in a couple of weeks there is a clearer picture. I hope we are truly doing what is right. We basically shut the whole country down and it is hurting the people bad in more ways than one.

I'll try to explain it.

Government creates the problem, then, using your money of course, is the one and only solution!

I get it. The Government solution to everything is throw money at it. Insanity at its best.

I was brain stroked at 49 years old...I have witnessed half dozen Stimulus paydays with Zilch paid to me over the past 23 years, my cost-of-living increases were few-&-far-between (usually limited to 1.3% cap) `for national austerity~

while the Federal Employees continued to get their expected 5% pay increases (on the coattails of Congress pay raises)

Trump has focused on Main Street instead of Wall Street-&=Fed Reserve

those of us on Retirement or Disability finally get included with the whole population of Americans …

Proud to be a Naturalized Citizen since 1957 many times over, not just because of a $1,200, Check

due maybe by April 17th

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
be aware that food costs are rising 30%... expect every day life to cost more --- yup 30% more as Pandemic management of the providing of Goods/Services changes the way we conduct business & grease the wheels of the economic system
the $1200. windfall from uncle Sam will only be worth $800... but at least the money velocity will allow the Banks to not Implode yet... but don't fall for the illusion
Trump is overtly mingled with the Deep-State Elites now, the bailout is essentially for the Banksters and is geared towards undermining the strength-of-the-Dollar...….. but the danged EU and their Euro continue to be more Shoddy than the USD and thus the USD Demand remains highest of all Fiat Money in the global financial markets,,, instead of toilet paper being the more useful paper
happy trails
America isn't going to come gallantly over the horizon to save other nations right now. Let's be real here. The US is the hardest hit area right now. By time it's over there, the rest of the world might have a handle on it already.
God damn not talking about saving nations its just some ventilators etc. Do you think Italy or Spain can make anything now? Just by our size and economic power we have more resources to throw at a problem.
You do realize it's a country of 300 million people. a couple of our manufacturers in China said they were fine but were forced to shut down. Not every business is dormant here.
if your on social security they adminster the checks same for disability i think
back taxes no problem, but if you owe child support you dont get full check or reduced check
www.nbcnews.com... Y3VC6TUgUcXwGBcoigW7XrFGqAN960-idfO7wdobdQ
The legislation "turns off nearly all administrative offsets that ordinarily may reduce tax refunds for individuals who have past tax debts, or who are behind on other payments to federal or state governments, including student loan payments," Grassley wrote in a medium.com post."The only administrative offset that will be enforced applies to those who have past due child support payments that the states have reported to the Treasury Department," he continued. In other words, Americans who are overdue on child support could see their cash payments reduced or eliminated.
so unless you owe back child support you should be fine , i am unsure if you are a normal just not filing tax payer if you get anything though
Based on this thread supposedly the correct course of action would be to let the economy crumble and allow people to starve to death.
Not seeing that as positive personally.
This bill has NASA funding....
$11 billion payoff of post office debt..
How exactly is that keeping people from starving?
Nobody is bitching about funding that will go where it’s needed but there is so much pork in this bill it’s the whole damn pig.
As far as the Post Office pay off, that's incredibly positive.
Not to mention, the postal service is a global, treaty backed operation; sort of a fundamental human right to communicate.
Considering the postal service is the LAST form of private communication in the world, you might want to reconsider your resentment.
No post office......no physical money = GAME OVER.
Count your blessings if that was part of the stimulus.
Money can't just be thrown around. It's a bad thing.
We all pay into unemployment, but that doesn't mean it should be 4 months of higher pay than someone got originally, and yes some will abuse it.
The whole country didn't shut down, but we're acting like it with this spending. We will all pay dearly for it.
If I remember correctly the post office was going to get $11 billion in debt wiped and $15 billion line of credit.
That dropped to $10 billion line of credit.
Why wasn’t the post office any kind of a priority before the virus?
They had financial issues long before that.
Granted, these were tracked down hastily, I've been leafing through this for a long time now and am brainfried. Unless I've skipped over mentions in other sections, they're all under the following: TITLE VI—MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS. The section starts on page 606.
Anything pertaining to the Postal Service starts on page 606. Loan limit is $10,000,000,000. Ten billion bucks.
Anything pertaining to NASA starts on page 628. They get $60 million.
Anything pertaining to the House of Representatives starts on page 781. They get $25 million, with $5 million supposed to be held on to for virus stuff.
I do find it suspect that the FCC is getting $200 million. Wonder who they're going to crack down on. Edit: That's on page 670.
