By my own math....

My "hard-hit" county of 320,000 at this late date has 1411 cases and 17 deaths.

.5% infected, 1 in 200 people.

.005% death rate ...? I'm not kidding. 1 in 20,000 people.

Interesting video steaming... not a lot of facts so many would read it as "hearsay" but also shows how you don't need a lot of detailed facts to point out blatant lies.

I'd love to hear some doctors saying how many people they have actually diagnosed with Coronavirus; 1 per surgery?, 10? 100? That would give people a better grasp on how serious it is. It would also act as a counterpoint to hospital figures.

I wonder why we are being told NOT to go to doctors surgeries... "Just ring this medical hotline instead".

Worth noting in the UK that brewing companies don't make most of their money out of Joe Bloggs drinking a pint of their beer... they make it from increases in the value of their pub/hotel properties and by forcing their tied landlords to pay exorbitant rents for the properties and forcing their Landlords to buy beer/spirits from them alone at whatever price they choose to sell it to them. It's a racket!!! I've had a few mates who were landlords and they were all bankrupted by the brewing companies.

Identify symbolism (Owl / Y).
Which performers/celebs supported HRC during the election?
Who performed during her rallies?
What jewelry and/or tattoos present?
What other events do they attend together?
What does HRC represent to them?
What celebrities have owl / Y head symbols?
What politicians have owl / Y head symbols?
What powerful people have owl / Y head symbols?
What powerful groups have owl / Y head symbols?
Why are they worn/shown openly?
Their need for symbolism will be their downfall.

Excellent post! One really nice aspect of these "National Emergencies" is that President Trump has more authority to do things without obtaining approval from House or Senate.

I could hear liberal governors ulcers exploding when President Trump said that he might have to force some states to re-open, if the state's governor resists.

I've done some research on the 'National Emergency' thing. People have been asking why Trump was using the high model numbers in his press conferences.

I think I've worked it out - it's to do with the Stafford Act:

www.fema.gov...

"Particular Support - The support provided under paragraph (1) shall include the following:

(A) Modeling, simulation, and analysis of the systems comprising critical infrastructures, including cyber infrastructure, telecommunications infrastructure, and physical infrastructure, in order to enhance understanding of the large-scale complexity of such systems and to facilitate modification of such systems to mitigate the threats to such systems and to critical infrastructure generally"

I find the telecommunications infrastructure part of it interesting, especially since there was an executive order signed to ensure that China Telecom got booted out of the US.

Trump has to use the inflated modelling in order to justify things like that actually happening. That's the model that Fauci was asked about that he hadn't seen (the one where it predicts a spike if restrictions are taken off too early). So he's basically using their own manufactured crisis against them.

"Critical Infrastructure Defined - In this section, the term “critical infrastructure” means systems and assets, whether physical or virtual, so vital to the United States that the incapacity or destruction of such systems and assets would have a debilitating impact on security, national economic security, national public health or safety, or any combination of those matters."

I'm pretty sure that he hasn't used much of the $40b or so he's allowed to allocate - maybe the temporary hospitals that have been built. The bulk of relief has been house/senate bills as far as I'm aware:

"Sec. 503. Amount of Assistance (42 U.S.C. 5193)

(a) Federal Share - The Federal share for assistance provided under this title shall be equal to not less than 75 percent of the eligible costs.
(b) Limit on Amount of Assistance –
(1) In General - Except as provided in paragraph (2), total assistance provided under this title for a single emergency shall not exceed $5,000,000.
(2) Additional Assistance - The limitation described in paragraph (1) may be exceeded when the President determines that -
(A) continued emergency assistance is immediately required;
(B) there is a continuing and immediate risk to lives, property, public health or safety; and
(C) necessary assistance will not otherwise be provided on a timely basis."

When Trump first enacted the Stafford Act, he said that it allowed him to do a lot of things that people don't even know about, and that he's pretty much got it memorised. Like for instance, it says this:

"Section 321 (h) - To the maximum extent practicable, the Secretary shall use national private sector networks and infrastructure for emergency response to chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, or explosive disasters, and other major disasters."

So when he says he wants private industry to step up and help, it's not because he doesn't want to send the military in...it's because he can't send them in because it's against the law of the Stafford Act. It even says that the government needs to acquire goods and services through regular commercial channels. But you won't hear that from the mainstream media, because I doubt they've even read the thing.

Just wait until they classify COVID-19 as a bioterrorist attack from China (either it will be classified as coming from the CCP if Xi doesn't play ball on the trade deal...or it will be classified as coming from a rogue party within the CCP if he does, which I think he will because he's not going to commit economic suicide). There's $5.6 billion waiting to be tapped if it can be proven that it came from a laboratory environment...because if its deemed naturally occurring (which is what the Democrats and China wants), that money can't be used:

"None of the funds made available under this subsection shall be used to procure countermeasures to diagnose, mitigate, prevent, or treat harm resulting from any naturally occurring infectious disease or other public health threat that are not security countermeasures under section 247d–6b(c)(1)(B) of title 42"

P.S. The Stafford Act also allows the administrator of FEMA to allocate funds to other areas as they see fit...so you could see this crisis paying for things like the wall being built (biosecurity) or the building of homes for the homeless as a form of disease control mitigation etc. There's lots of things that can be done with that $5.6 billion that can be used to flip some states and allow Trump to nominate Supreme Court Justices etc.

Not another 4 year election.

P.P.S. Just as an aside, it's funny that in 2015, they added 'broadcasting facilities' to the term 'non profit facility' alongside museums, homeless shelters, schools etc...that makes me laugh. Chalk another one up to Obama.

Probably includes cell towers, police/fire microwave repeaters, wifi hotspots, and associated power (gennies), etc It's almost certainly not for building CNN studios, but might include over the air transmitters for local radio and TV. All those things are of great utility, some of them critical, in a disaster scenario where they are destroyed or otherwise out of commission.

That is enlightening.
I am actually surprised that your county has the numbers that it does (I live in Berks County). Do you think the numbers being as high as they are in your county are due to the influx of people from NYC? Your county was traditionally a ‘hangout/summer home’ for certain New Yorkers.

FEAR + VACCINE = BILLIONS
Companies reap the swine flu windfall

David Kagi, a healthcare analyst at Swiss-based Bank Sarasin & Co estimates pandemic vaccine sales will be worth a total of $7.6 billion, even with a mild pandemic. A severe pandemic would result in total vaccine sales of $18 billion.

COVID-19 >
CDC initial forecasts 2.2 million deaths in the US (if nothing is done) > 400K > 200K ...
Would these numbers be dropping so quickly without President Trump in the daily WH briefings?

H1N1 >
WHO Initial Mortality rate hyped at 1.6%, and quietly dropped to .02% (65X lower) years later
BIG PHARMA EUROPE gained the most from the H1N1 bonanza.
BIG PHARMA US mostly missed out, but launched a round of acquisitions to better positioning itself for the future.
Johnson & Johnson spent $444 million to buy a stake in Dutch biotech Crucell NV
Abbott Laboratories Inc spent $6.6 billion on the drugs unit of Belgium’s Solvay SA
Merck & Co Inc teamed up with Australia’s CSL Ltd. to get back into the U.S. flu market

HYDROXYCHLOROQUINE = "THE PERFECT DRUG"
If testing proves safe and successful, doctors have millions of low-cost doses available to prescribe to patients now.

- With public fear gone, what happens to Market Demand for a new vaccine in 18 months?
- Will the cost of the vaccine treatment be lowered into the $1-5 USD range price (matching Hydroxychloroquine)?
- How hard will Big Pharma's projected revenue fall (can they cover the billions spent in Mergers & Acquisitions)?

That is it for I , like your good self, gradually went through all 3 of the Sinclair PCs, still feel excited about the eventual , Well praised rubberish Keyboard etc. (Grin), still got the ruddy thing here - somewhere plus the steady rise of Amiga Commodore , 300 then the 500, and the eventual 300 to 500 converter. Have 2 keyboards for the 500, loved those small box like Drawers supplied for file collection. Then the robotic Voice, the SB16, the at style - yet original - CD drive, plus 2 floppy drives and a gig attachment fot the Amiga 1200, They even had a programme - bought on a Floppy - that allowed the Amiga Com' 500 to read, a floppy that carried files from the 720 PCs. Loved using the Animate means through which X,Y,Z became the tools for such plus the excess colours in which Gold looked close to realism. All sounds like junk to some, but it still get's a dust off now and then. There are AMIGA websites still up and running.

One other fact is how easy everything was, Fun meant something then eh ? so called isolation did not arrive via Fear.

PS Boozer mob's were knocked bandy by the maximum increase in Tax. Pub's expensive, yet a whole bottle of wine - within the house of commons - was sold Tax free.

PPS zx80 - recall the ' writing up of a Calculator prog' in which one could write allow 1+ when / if 5 is entered .......... to prove (not really ) but to show how such could be wrong ?.

That would make sense...but that's not when they are talking about.

This is what it says:

"Additional Facilities – In addition to the facilities described in subparagraph (A), the term “private nonprofit facility” includes any private nonprofit facility that provides essential social services to the general public (including museums, zoos, performing arts facilities, community arts centers, community centers, libraries, homeless shelters, senior citizen centers, rehabilitation facilities, shelter workshops, food banks, broadcasting facilities, houses of worship, and facilities that provide health and safety services of a governmental nature), as defined by the President. No house of worship may be excluded from this definition because leadership or membership in the organization operating the house of worship is limited to persons who share a religious faith or practice."

It's more for NPR and PBS...those types of stations.

Good morning, folks.

It appears that Nancy Pelosi is intending to keep Congress shut down through the month of April and until some time "well into May."

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi told Politico Friday that she is considering keeping the House of Representatives out of session longer than the April 20th return-from-recess date, and may not bring Congress back until well into May — and she’s warned President Donald Trump to keep the country under lockdown even longer.

This is ridiculous. The PPP loan program is running out of money and in order for it to be reimbursed they need to draft more legislation and have it passed by the full house and Senate. Which means those of us on the ropes are likely to stay on the ropes for quite awhile longer yet. It's like they're trying to put us all out in the streets.

But the Democrats have been pushing for bailout money for "News Media" as they like to word it.

Without that support, the Senators say in a letter to Senate leadership, “communities across the country risk losing one of their key sources of accurate information about what citizens need to know and do in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.”

Accurate information......if that were only the case.
