How about some great news and an inexpensive treatment for COVID-19

I think while I am out and about tomorrow I will go to a Pharmacy and see if I can get some Chloroquine tablets. Unlike supposed more refined and civilized societies you do not need a prescription for almost anything around here.

President Trump announced on Thursday morning that the CDC had approved use of the drug in treating coronavirus patients.

But tonight we heard more from Rep. Mark Green, a former Army Flight Surgeon, that the combination of Chloroquine with Azithromycin cleared the virus in 3 days in 100% of the patients in the study.

That is THREE international studies now that show the success of the Chloroquine treatment.

On Monday night Laura Ingraham reported that a new study revealed the anti-viral medication chloroquine is successful in fighting the coronavirus.

** An Effective Treatment for Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Laura invited Dr. Gregory Rigano, the co-author of the study to discuss the latest findings.

Dr. Rigano said their study found that those COVID-19 patients who took hydroxy-chloroquine were found free of the disease in 6 days. The patients were testing negative for the coronavirus in six days!

Dr. Rigano also said taking choroquine could act as a preventative.

This is a remarkable study!

Edit to add the price of a tablet of Choroquine is just about 5 cents a tablet. I would bet there are some drug manufactures not happy with this latest news.. I hope this works for everyone !

It's prescription only in Australia. Good ol' Oz, we're always under the damn thumb.

Also, the price? The manufacturer price gouged it 98% last year (not related to the pandemic) and now they've reverted the price back to 2015 prices. From $3.87 a 250mg tablet to $7.66 back to $3.87 now, in the US.. But still without being on the PBS here and only with a valid prescription, it's about $20 for 100x200mg tablets.

Funny how they can jack the price up, but not supply it for free at a time when it should not be incumbent on the population to cease the spread of a pandemic. And yeah, typical Australia... rx only for a malaria medicine.

It really is a racket. Go to a Doctor for $$ to get a prescription and then go to a pharmacy to fill the prescription.. Here I walk in and say "Do you have any ???????" If the answer is yes I am out the door med in hand without spending half a day .

In another study published on Wednesday, French researchers have completed a clinical trial, using the drug to treat confirmed cases of COVID-19. In a controlled study in France, 20 patients were given 600 mg of Plaquenil each day, and found that half of the treated group went from positive to negative for the virus by the third day. By the sixth day, that figure had increased to 70 percent.

The study said, “Despite its small sample size our survey shows that hydroxychloroquine treatment is significantly associated with the viral load reduction/disappearance in COVID-19 patients and its effect is reinforced by azithromycin.”

Gregory Rigano, an advisor to the Stanford University School of Medicine, is leading a program testing the effects of hydroxychloroquine for treatment of COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus. He appeared on Tucker Carlson Tonight on Wednesday night, and claimed that hydroxychloroquine, combined with azithromycin, is a 100-percent cure for the virus.

I was thinking wow this sounds great, then I saw two names trump and gatewaypundit...all of a sudden great is replaced with ,I believe it when I see it...

6 to 10 days seems to be the average recovery period from what I can tell... did they compare this to other drugs to ascertain whether there was actually a real benefit?

I read about it the other day, in a fleeting news item that was never mentioned again. They mentioned that it was very successful in stopping the virus dead in it's tracks.

You'd think this would be the main focus of the media, instead it's wash your hands, keep 4 meters away from everyone else and stay at home if you feel a sniffle.

The masters are definitely opting to use this to instil a new era of control, this is becoming more and more evident, at least to me.

It works by interfering with the way the virus attaches to the human cell, preventing it from causing further infection. I think that would imply that it works better than letting it run it's course with the possibility of complications arising from what it's doing to the body and lungs.

You don't have to trust Trump or GP on this!

There are actually a few clinical studies which have been conducted and published in the last few days. The first study I saw showed it effective against the (bacterial) pneumonia associated with CoV-19, and a couple I saw yesterday shows it's effective against the coronavirus itself.

However, these were small studies, and large scale results may not follow the same.

Methinks the Medical Mafia is scared of losing their criminal enterprise, since the Chinese are now recommending the totally natural, non-drug high dose IV Vitamin C therapy: Shanghai Government Officially Recommends Vitamin C for COVID-19.

I'll stick with what works with (and stimulates) the body's natural functions, as opposed to patented drugs with side effects (even if they are minor).

A bit tired of this.

I've been talking about this treatment for a MONTH. There were trials done in China a month ago which showed promising results, and might explain how they have slowed it so drastically.

Now every country is trying to claim it. Australia, France, now USA. It's not right. Credit where it is due. Look at the date and details of this treatment.

This is the third thread about it on ATS by the way.... Yet still it continues to not get the traction it deserves.

Again though, I am not a doctor and this is not medical advice. These are videos by DOCTORS, not regular youtubers who know nothing, they contain links to trial data etc.

I don't do good with z-paks, neither does my daughter. I do not have a real bad reaction to z-pacs like my daughter does, I can take them for about three days before the side effects usually get bad, about the same as sulfa drugs, she gets wiped out in hours on Z-paks and sulfa meds. They are different types of meds, but I get about the same side effects, I don't know why, I just know the side effects are similar, they start to make me feel worse after about three days.
