I don't think this one will hit us,but if another one we don't know about hits later in the year,I wouldn't be surprised at this point.
I mean we have already had:
Giant fires in Australia and the Amazon,
Giant locust swarms in Africa and Pakistan,
Viral pandemic,
Global market crash..and its only March.

So whats next?
Could be a meteor strike, mega quake, supervolcano, sun goes white dwarf, alien invasion..who knows what else 2020 has up its naughty sleeve for us?
Not me

why are you 100% sure it wont hit us? What if they know something we dont know?

Maybe it's Wormwood of the bible and the virus is the begging of the 4 housemen.

I'd rather die due to an asteroid impact than by COVID-19 to be honest.

Anyway, also waiting on that article.

Same here. Death by asteroid is more badass than dying from being sick.

I don't know, but if one thing's for certain it's mankind's ability to manufacture crises.

Do you guys seriously think NASA would actually say straight up if an asteroid could impact the earth?
I'm not saying that's what's up, but no matter if the thing was 100% sure to pull a dinosaur-move on humanity right now, they'd say it will pass "close but won't hit" until the death of everyone.

J/S.

And for the record, no, I do not personally believe that C-19 has anything to do with an asteroid. Political madness, okay, sure, but not an asteroid.

The data doesn't come from NASA, actually. It comes from various observatories around the planet, including amateurs.

What are the odds of it hitting Earth? There's a couple things I'll need to do before it arrives.

But who regulates how their info gets into the MSM?
Say an amateur finds an earth-killer and spreads that information around. What would the media, government, NASA, etc, do about it?
What would the world do if it found out?
This is probably a whole different discussion, but it makes you think realistically how this would be handled, and if it would even be possible to stop the spread of the word if someone did find an ELE asteroid.

No one.

Not much they could do about it. Once the information is there, anyone with a good enough telescope can verify it. And there are plenty of telescopes that are good enough.

What would the world do if it found out?
Depends I guess. How big is it? But probably the world would flip out. The world tends to do that in a crisis. Especially Americans. But if it's big enough to wipe out the planet, so what? A panic won't matter, nor would calm acceptance.

Right. Essentially, an asteroid extinction would be a double whammy then. The misery of everyone knowing they're about to die, followed by the actual event. With social media, it'd be a pretty fun time.

"Should we like.. put bags over our heads or something?"

A lot of people seem to be almost hoping for something like that to happen, which to me is kind of stupid, because the "apocalypse" probably isn't something that happens immediately. In fact, it's already happening. This planet has been dying for a long time and it's a long, slow death. Just like we're all slowly dying individually.

The planet will be here for a very long time. It's not dying. A whole lot of species have been going away though, but that's not taking a long time. It's actually happening quite rapidly.

I meant the life on the planet more so than the planet itself so yes I agree. Few glasses of wine down, can't communicate.

What I'm trying to say is that nothing happens suddenly. The planet will die off, but VERY slowly. The people, plants, etc, not as slowly, but not suddenly as so many doom porners love to believe.

ETA... nobody can know for sure so I'm being awfully arrogant to say that it can't happen, but just that I'm tired of the asteroid enthusiasm.

Want a fact?

Any asteroid coming in at more than 1 LD is as ordinary as a windy day.

The doom and gloom posts on this site are starting to mimic what the media is doing presently, yet we condemn them from doing it. Hippo...... spell it out.

Cut this # out NOW. We need to bind together and disseminate advice that helps us all to survive, not scare us or kill us.

Check out the fish we have to fry presently.

There are some very smart people here on ATS.

This site is about resolving the obfuscation of TRUTH in this world, if you did not understand that.

Get your #ing heads out of the sand and do your job... With a "pretty please" if you require it.

I don't think it's funny to joke about this.

Where ever it lands, the poor population it would surely rectum.

Thank you. I agree 1000%

Anyway, if anything is going to kill everyone suddenly, it'll come from the night and nobody will see it coming. Mankind would have to be incredibly arrogant to believe they could see everything or know everything that could end them.

Oh wait, it is. Ignorance is bliss.

There won't be no fricken asteroid and COVID-19 has nothing. NOTHING. to do with anything like that.

Toilet paper itself could cause a black hole from being over bought because its protons line up funny or something idk. If COVID-19 is going to kill me, it's going to do so by creating a black hole at my local walmart while I'm shopping.
