Former Vice President Joe Biden's first "virtual town hall" was a technical calamity.
His campaign wanted those who attended to be able to ask him questions.
The start time of Friday's "virtual town hall" was pushed back by two hours -- and then it still started 15 minutes late.
As those on "Zoom" waited to watch, the video alternated between confused-looking Democratic Sens. Tammy Duckworth and Dick Durbin of Illinois.
The event started with brief remarks from Durbin, who wasn't visible to those watching on Zoom.
Then Biden came on and he was visible, but no one could hear him.
None of it was being broadcast on Facebook Live as intended, leaving some who had planned to watch it on that platform, confused.
The first person who was invited to ask a question, instead offered a comment: "Mr. Biden's speech was garbled the entire time!"
The campaign tried a second person -- who had apparently dropped off.
As the third questioner began, Biden asked, "Am I live?"
As the fourth started, he asked, "Am I on camera?"
Finally, after that answer, Biden's team had figured out its technical difficulties, and started the broadcast on Facebook Live, almost immediately seeing the audience jump to 5,000. Audience member Maureen signaled that she had a question.
"Maureen?" a staffer asked, as the audience waited for her question.
"Maureen, are you there?" Biden asked.
About two minutes and 20 seconds into the Facebook Live video, Biden walked off camera.
He was replaced by an "Illinois for Biden" sign, as he answered a final question unseen.
Four minutes and 31 seconds in, the Facebook Live stream ended, the Zoom feed shut off, and the event was over.

Friday, March 13, 2020 (Friday the 13th for Joe)
To reduce the spread of CoronaVirus-19, medical experts suggested to Democrat Presidential Candidates Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders, that they reduce or eliminate rallies and town-halls with live people in attendance.
Former Vice President eagerly complied. Tonight was his team's first crack at a virtual, streaming Rally/Town Hall.
The target was voters in Illinois, whose Democratic Primary is this coming Tuesday.

When I worked in the corporate environment 20 years ago, we had 2-way interactive live streaming video conferences.
What could have caused so many snafus for the Biden team, with such a time-tested technology?

Going as planned. Ignore the needs of the common folks, make them beg, borrow and steal then cast them in irons. Biden needs to go and go fast to an island where there is only money to be eaten.

I guess we'll have to rely on news broadcasters to do the campaigning for the Democrats. They do a good job of singing Biden's praises, so it just might work.

That's what I'm afraid of and not only that, will we see Biden in person starting today?
Remember we were able to keep Reagan out of the lime light due to his mental capacity.
