EDIT!
I have been using a old or bad link from Johns Hopkins. If you are using this link
gisanddata.maps.arcgis.com...#/bda7594740fd40299423467b48e9ecf6 GET RID OF IT! IT IS INCORRECT!
I check this map sometimes hourly.
But since this morning, ALL the CoVID-19 cases in California, New Mexico, Florida, Georgia, Texas and Colorado ARE GONE!
Many in Washington have disappeared as well!
Here is the current map
gisanddata.maps.arcgis.com...#/bda7594740fd40299423467b48e9ecf6

And here is the map from 03/08/2020

Perhaps they used actual data this time instead of the data from the media?

It says the map is undergoing maintenance.

Are you using this URL? I just opened it and the totals are entirely different.

There are a number of fake Johns Hopkins map sites popping up - some delivery systems for malware.

Anyone using a divergent URL than the link above may want to check their URL here for safety.

There are confirmed cases in Michigan and it doesn't show up on this map.

5000 plus deaths? In the US? Is that true?

I can't speak to that, other than the URL linked is the official Johns Hopkins map. https: //coronavirus.jhu.edu/map.html - broken to show full URL.

It's currently under maintenance which might explain the Michigan omission.

The maps total is global but broken down to individual countries in the list underneath.

No Sir, I've been using gisanddata.maps.arcgis.com...#/bda7594740fd40299423467b48e9ecf6
I had previously used the link directly from Johns Hopkins, but now I see they now have a new link. Arcgis must have lost the contract.
Thank you for the correction.
Mods, please delete my post.
This stuff is bad enough.

Well hang on, if anyone else uses this link, they will get bad info.

why would you use these other sites and not their official one with the map? coronavirus.jhu.edu...

My suggestion is to find the map link that displays the data you want to see, and then broadcast that one. At least it will be no different that our "media" outlets.

NO, the current death toll in the US is 41 and the confirmed cases aren't even at 2k yet.

I hope it explains a lot because UK has currently been wiped off the map!

They are actually only using CDC test data, in the U.S., and none of the third party testing data.

Who's compiling third party test data? Anyone?

Personally, I prefer this site to get a holistic viewpoint of the entire situation. It provides true perspective.
